For me, I get the most fun when playing with a car at the limit.  It’s not that important to me where that limit is (even fun at very low speeds on slippery surfaces at low lateral g’s)

It is important to me that the car is super responsive to my inputs with lots of feel and feedback - makes dancing near the limit much more satisfying.

Playing at the limit in a Turbo S on public roads is usually pretty irresponsible or worse - I know I couldn’t do it safely in almost any conditions.

I did a lot of dumb stuff in my cars when I was younger and I have to say that on public roads, the stupid stuff has basically disappeared. Mostly because I am more mature now and understand what can happen but also because of experience and...why should I lie...fear. Yes, I am scared to do my stunts on public roads anymore, actually anywhere, probably really has something to do with age (and a certain cost perspective Smiley).

As you gain speed you think of your kiddies. Suddenly becomes not worth it Smiley

Actually I was talking about money... Smiley My last serious track experience left me with a 4000 EUR bill...I needed two new rims (this happens when you slide through gravel Smiley and it is so bad that it cannot be repaired). Not worth it.

Also, most of the track experiences I would be interested in are way too expensive, they start at 5000 EUR and more, I really need the money for different stuff, not willing to pay that much anymore to make my ego happy. Smiley

I thought we was talking about giving it the beans on public roads. I do, now and again, when super safe.

Track days, still have not done one. Batters the car, you can really spot a track slag against a non one. I would rather pay 5k for a day and use ''their'' car.

50k for one day, wtf is on offer other than tracking - hot women. Smiley

5k for a track experience? What kind of trackdays are those? 👀

Well... Smiley Starting at 5k...meaning: With accomodations, well known instructors and distractions for the wives, more close to 10k and more. Smiley The instructors were worth it but at my age (and with my bank account Smiley), I have no ambitions to do any kind of semi-pro motorsports anymore. Family comes first, I enjoy trips with them much more and my time is very limited.

The new GT cars take track use with no ill effects - my car is just like new with the exception of the windscreen and a little pitting on the clear bra (both of which are replaceable).  I think many track cars are better maintained and run stronger than some garage queens.

Fully ack. To be fair, there is significant additional wear on tires and  brakes, not to mention the fuel consumption :)

It is interesting to note the 0-60 time with rollout is more than 2 seconds. I’m keeping an eye on this as I have been told less than 2 seconds without roll out is impossible.  This is a two wheel drive car though so it is impressive for certain.  Now we can see that to get under 9 seconds the top speed is huge.

    Re: Mclaren 765LT

Had my first look today, car is now ready wearing its new CF louvred front wings, my dealer had to pay £14K to Mclaren for the set plus fitting and painting- that was an expensive error.

Car is being registered for March the first so I'm collecting week Monday, I started it up, what a great sound really zingy and much smoother than I expected.

There is a staying home mandate here as well but roads are full, so are recreational areas and whatnot. Nobody really takes this serious, not even the authorities here, which is pretty weird. Just yesterday at Lake Ammer here in Bavaria, thousands of people, no social distancing, most of them without masks (outdoors) but very close to each other, young(er) people in groups(!) together, I doubt they were only family members and one friend and so on.

You do not see any police (anymore), as if everyone is tired of the measures and doesn't care anymore. So sad. People are wondering now why numbers are slowly going up again. Oh well...of course...only the mutations are to blame. Smiley Smiley

Nuts and irresponsible. I know this has been discussed elsewhere on Rennteam - and I have stayed out of it! My philosophy from the start has been what can I do as an individual on the economic front right from guaranteeing the salary of my least well paid employees through to not taking my cars out on the viral spread front.

When we saw how many people were at the lake last weekend, we left immediately. Impossible to keep social distancing, especially since basically nobody was wearing a mask (yes, outdoors but people were like less than half a meter away from each other, very crowded).

I haven't seen any police, I also never heard of anyone getting fined, unless he/she did something really really stupid (like partying or whatever). Politicians try to remind people to be responsible without any further pressure and it works up to a point but when it comes to leisure and nice weather, well...bye bye responsibility, good riddance. Smiley

The first lockdown worked great, nobody really on the streets, people keeping their distance. Probably the reason why we barely had cases in Germany. Then spring/summer came, people got less scared and more annoyed of the pandemic and the results, we can enjoy now. Smiley

Oh, the irony!  You and your family go to the lake yet when others, whom you deem less intelligent, are already there you leave post haste. What an elitist view you possess.
