Carlos from Spain:Look better than the Taycan at least in photos.
Could not agree more. The Taycan is a pleasant looking vehicle whilst this is on a different level. It’s somewhat puzzling that Audi has returned to using real buttons in the interior of its high tech car.

Wow.. they couldn't even bother to modify any of the panels in between the wheels. I don't mind a bit of cross-brand pollination, but this is just... Dunno, I would feel cheated someway, even if you basically are buying a Porsche for Audi money.

The panels are significantly different that neither panel will fit on the other vehicle. Looks like Porsche set the hard points without introducing any flexibility into the platform Audi inherited. If one were to venture a guess, this platform was probably planned as exclusively Porsche; however, after development was far along, Volkswagen corporate management wanted to increase volumes to decrease per unit costs, so Audi was brought into the plans.

In Germany it is cheaper as you would expect: e-tron GT 99.8 k€ vs Taycan 4S (including bigger battery and heat pump which are standard in the Audi): 112.8k€. And RS e-tron GT 138.2 k€ vs 153 k€ for the Taycan Turbo. And they maintained the pecking order: the Audi is always 0.1 seconds slower to 100 (km/h) versus the comparable Taycan

Still, way too expensive and for German tastes too aggressive (e-tron) in my opinion.
VW Group hasn't learned anything from Tesla it seems.

Carlos from Spain:I was glad when the new Model S plaid came out, thought it would put some pressure on VW's pricing... doesn't seem like they care.
They don't and it will bite them in the a.. .

No.

JoeRockhead:
I know i you are not just getting a few paper stats for that price, obviously you get a lot more like you get s lot more on a Rolex or PP than a Casio, but the price difference for the basic stats like milage (very important on a EV) and engine/s is just too huge. VW has lost touch with reality.
If I were in the states I would go for the Tesla, hands down. I'm picturing Leawood right now is re-reading this 10x times to make sure he is reading correctly but it's what it is, I call it like I see it

Let's face it; people have been paying a premium to buy German cars over American for a long time, and in most cases the quality and performance warranted it. But when the delta in the performance fundamentals listed in that pic is so large, it certainly makes you reconsider.

I was just going to say that I like the Audi. Notice that I don’t post a lot of videos or articles praising the Tesla. There are lots. It also refrain from ever posting about my daily encounters with traffic in the Tesla or other positive experiences. Typically I only try to present the other side of negative posts. This is a shame because like many of you I enjoy sharing my experiences but can’t in this forum. I can barely fight the bad press.
Oh well. I do appreciate your comment Carlos. I did not have to read it more than once as I know you are always fair. Wish you had the cheap power and charging we have here - to say nothing of the cheap prices and low taxes. My sales tax on the Tesla was zero. Insurance is $400 per year now. Property taxes and tags for three years $300. (Hint - not KS rates)

Electricity is off the roof here in Spain, in part thanks to the socialists heavily subsidizing green energy which is too expensive (and not ready for mainstream) and tranfering that cost into taxes on the electricity billl which the matority of it is taxes.
But an issue here for the Tesla is after sales service, its still a bit green compared to the states, so that is another issue to consider regarding ownership. Will get better in time, but if you don't live in one of the mayor nig cities then it is a problem. The closest shop for me I see in the map is 90min drive away in Portugal for example. Audi or Porsche is 10min from the city home, and 25min from the summer house.
But if I were in the states, between those models, I'd choose the Tesla hands down like I said

I think German car makers are, again, underestimating the competition.

German cars are not getting that with EV power is too easy and cheap. They can't bank on that. That worked with ICE engines, but the fundamentals are now different. An adjustment will not work. They need a revolution..

This Audi e-Tron GT is going to do what no Tesla can do, stealing Taycan sales. from Porsche.
I will be expecting a optioned RS e-Tron GT to be under the price of a optioned Taycan turbo.
Why would I pick the Porsche when the Audi is pretty much the same car and has a better interior. I mean, it has buttons!!!
I think I am going to pre-order the RS.
