    997s with black 19" wheels

    The first I've seen so far. I Don't like it. But as some of you guys may, here are the pics.

    Somehow it doesn't work cuz the black seems to show off too much of what is behind that is lighter in color. If everything was blackened out I think it would be mo better

    I think the appearance of the car generally has to work as an "updated classic," and as such not fussed over too much. It is what it is. Without the long history and childhood memories and dreams (the marketing people are right on this) attached to the car, it doesn't stand out. If the 911 never existed and Chrysler introduced a car today with 997 looks it would get a big yawn. However, in the true context the car has exquisite refinement in an understated and mechanically incredibly well executed package to which nothing compares.

    To black out the wheels, the simpler plain 5 spoke style would be better- why bother painting out "to hide" the more complicated " lobster fork " S wheel ?

    As clearly visible in the first pic, it looks like a flash has been used.. that way it looks like everything behind the rim is lighter. I think in normal circumstances that will be less obtrusive. Furthermore, in he last pic it looks like there is a urbo with eric's GT2 wing on it!

    Not keen myself. Also cannot stand the blacked out rear window - jeez - what is the point - it's not a people carrier.

    Looks "ok" maybe would look better with a lighter color ie Seal grey. But otherwise doesnt look to bad, but i prefer the titanium color.

    Look at the brake calipers, the disks, the suspension components, the dirty inner surface of the wheels. It there anything beautiful about them? Blackening the spokes of the wheel only makes those exclusively functional (ugly?) elements more visible.

    I agree that the black wheels would simply draw attention to any/all dirt and grime behind them. It looks slick as a novelty, but I'm not sure I'd want to live with that look.

    That looks sweet!!! I really love the black rims with allow rim, reminds of the old 80's 911 wheels.

    Makes the car much sportier as well I think
