Even at 1900, it would be fun. Not sure whether the the light car can withstand a high speed crash.

I hope not to have any evidence to provide Smiley

It does have FIA racing seats and 5-point harnesses and a 3/4 cage.  But, I'm not trying to pretend it's safe.  Its top speed is artificially limited by custom low/close ratio gearing (I don't need more than 125mph at my track and the car hits the redline of 7,200rpm in 5th in the low 130's with the small diameter tires ).  Otherwise, it would go over 160mph...

On the road, it becomes involving and exciting at far more tame speeds than the GT3.  If find myself often driving at 1/2 speed of the GT3, but feeling like I'm going twice as fast Smiley

Awesome car! I guess there is a glass or plastic divider between the passengers and the engine? Smiley

I can only second the notion how much fun these light, nimble and quirky cars are. You as a driver make far more of a difference... and all that at comparatively low speeds.

Nothing at the moment, but it occurred to me that the Lexan firewall might be a good place to mount my iPhone to get vid including the driver...

Same benefits of my Lotus over my GT4.  This kind of experience is irreplaceable.

The thing I worry about modern GT cars is you are always looking at the next one.  I see guys going from 991 GT3, to 991.2, to RS to then 992 GT.  Something is clearly missing from these cars...

No video yet, but I was in the garage and have a couple pics with the rear window removed (Dzus quick fasteners make this possible in one minute).  You can see the aluminum lower firewall and Lexan top window/firewall here:

Re: Glad to have my 73 911 running again

It used to look much prettier with the old (with detailed ribs) gearbox (new one is much better though with custom gears, LSD, Oil Cooler, Wevo Gateshift, Magnesium case, etc.) and before the top/bottom divider was installed (this helps keep intake and exhaust gas separated).  Still have the other gearbox in the basement...

    915 or 901 gearbox?

I still have a 901 in my short-stroke 2.5 and it's really a 4 speed with a 1st that you can only use exceptionally gingerly from a dead stop (and that's with 930 internals in some places etc.)

Re: Glad to have my 73 911 running again

Both gearboxes are 915.  The one with silver ribs is from a mid-80's car with Aluminum case, later (tall) gears, 8:31 R&P, Open Diff, etc.

The one in the car now had a complete build by Hayden (owner of Wevo) and he put all the best mods in it (from a Mag-case early 915 I found locally and shipped to him).  Changed R&P from 7:31 to 8:31 for added strength, added custom Guard Transmission 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears, Guard asymmetrical LSD, Cooler with electric pump (thermostatically controlled or manually overridden) and internal squirters where needed most.  Wevo shifter and coupler are nice too.

Basically has all the stuff they sell here:

Here is some very bad interior video forward and rearward views- sorry will get a camera mount to my roll at next time and not film at dusk with all the reflection...

This modified C7 Z06 had a crazy exhaust and was really fast!

BTW, I came upon the Vette with cold oil and didn't want to flog it too hard (not that I could've come close to him)

Sorry, didn't know how to delete sections from middle of video (sitting at red light), just learned to snip off beginning and ending sections.  Anyways, here is a poor quality rear facing shot:

The flywheel is an original one from a 73RSR race car - that helps with the quick revs.  Apparently, it’s very valuable (came on the car when I bought it).

I’m not sure if the Vette was burning oil or maybe that was unburnt fuel- it sounded and accelerated like it had some kind  of Crazy boost mods (maybe 1,000 hp or something with huge fuel delivery)
