Milanno:Yeah, its paranoia Since its new tyre on market, I assume its not under 300 Euros per piece...
1400 EUR incl. install for all four.

JimFlat6:You know someone is serious when they get a new car and first thing they do is upgrade the tires instead of wasting months with the OEM ones.
The OEM ones aren't bad at all but they degrade quite fast in hot weather and when driven "spirited". Since I will drive this car mostly when it is warm and nice outside, I need a tire with very good dry grip but I do not want to get the Cup 2 because of the compromises in rain.
I heard so many good things about the new PZero, apparently it can take a couple of rounds on the track without degrading and since I wanted to change the tires anyway, I think this is a good solution for me.

tso:At least post a video where you KILL the old tires in a parking lot
Actually, this is not a bad idea at all...
I plan to drive the car to Italy in summer, it would be pretty sad if I end up without tires...so I will wait until the new ones arrive since this is a new tire and the estimated delivery time may not be met by my dealer.

Ciao Christian!
I was a bit absent from the forum but I would make to congratulate for your awesome R8!
maybe you already see this video but...it's amazing how it sounds :)

a comparison from the Quattroruote's latest issue (test 991.2 turbo s vs r8 plus).
Thanks, I haven't read this comparison yet.
It basically confirms what I said a couple of times: R8 V10 Plus and 991.2 Turbo S have basically the same performance.
Love the CONFORT ACUSTICO db(A) or sound levels at full acceleration:
991.2 Turbo S ---> 82.3 db(A)
R8 V10 Plus ---> 96.6 db(A)
To understand these numbers, these are the new EU regulations for noise on new (new certification) cars:
Hockenheim has for example a 98 db(A) noise level limit.
Btw: I think they made a mistake with the weight of the R8. The R8 is around 50 kg more than the 991.2 Turbo S, not 150 kg.

m4ever:I am impressed by the great performance results of the R8 Plus, despite it weights (according to the figures of Quattroruote) 151 Kgs more than the 991 Turbo S. RC you did the right choice (but this you knew already!)
The weight is an error though, in all reviews, the R8 is around 50 kg heavier than the 991.2 Turbo S.

I like the fact that there is an anti-SUV paragraph for the loudest mentioned category: "driver's seat =< 450mm above ground"
But what about cars >200kW/1000kg, will they stay less restricted?
Rotbart:But what about cars >200kW/1000kg, will they stay less restricted?
I don't know exactly, I think there will be some exceptions but not many and under 80 db(A), which is not enough to produce for example the sound of the current R8 or Huracan.
It will be pretty bad for sports cars I'm afraid but who knows, maybe car manufacturers will find a loophole, like they did with flap controlled exhaust systems.

The roads there are fun, the food is excellent, Italians don't really mind loud cars and some even love them and the police is actually quite OK if you don't exaggerate. Good spot for having fun in a nice car like the Spyder.

JimFlat6:About the R8 V10 Plus, do you hear less tire noise than in the cabin than a Turbo S.
Are you kidding? The engine is louder than anything...
To be honest: I haven't paid attention but I will (in Comfort mode, with the exhaust turned off).

What is it with my Audi dealer and stripes...???
They got the replacement for "my" car, a red R8 and...put stripes on it again.
OK, the stripes may fit the red car better but still...too much.

the stripes just do not go with the character of the r8...i find it to be an elegent fussless sports car desígn...any add-ons spoil that. even the spoiler doesnt go with the wide clean lines.

Oh my god....no.!!
They’ve done it again. I can’t believe it. This strips are completely out of place on a red R8. But this may be just a quirk of the dealer. In his showroom there are other Audi models, such as S7 etc. who received also glued "modifications" which are highly questionable.

The stripes are too "wide", I think they would look nicer if they would make them thinner.
I kind of have the feeling that they have some sort of agreement with a local foil company and this is how they advertise it. To be honest, I was thinking foiling my R8 but came to the conclusion that I actually like Suzuka Grey a lot for this car, especially since it is not a very offensive and flashy color.
I know that many track addicts love to add racing decals and stuff to their car and my sales guy pointed me to the R8 LMS version (see photo) but I just think this is too much, way too much.
My car stays...plain and simple.

I absolutely love this! I think the car looks great. Just the rims should be blackish, too!

I share the exact same view, and the stripes look even worse on the red IMO. Sometimes less is more...

Those stripes are sales bait that works. They should stripe every R8 they get. If they can sell a R8 with stripes to RC think about what they can do in the sales office to the next guy who asks why are there stripes on that R8.
It is a good car, it just needed some pepper on that steak to get people talking.
