Boxster Coupe GTS:How about that cool Porsche 904 concept?
...please can I get one with a GT3 engine Andreas Preuninger?
Perfect concept including the high-revving V2 motor. That's what gives the car character and uniqueness in the spirit of the original 904. A GT3 engine is way too much weight for this concept and simply muddies what is meant as a small minimalist sports car.
Mithras:Why don't they ever SHOW these things when they're current!!!!! Even if it just speaks to what they are thinking about or design motifs.
I love seeing these but it kind of pisses me off.
Depends on how one look at things.
The 919 Street was going to be a great concept which they might even pursuit, but the 919 race program is cancelled so there is no point.
The tail on the 904 lived on in the new 935. Some enterprising individual could possible cast up all the body panels and put it on a Cayman.
The van, well, it's just not very Porsche is it?
The roadster also isn't very Porsche like, one see more styling cues from the Cadillac XLR than any Porsches.

Because... there are a lot of design cues that they will use in subsequent models. If you consider how much money is invested even in these internal concepts, one can understand that they will not hand out these ideas to the competition that easily.
It could also be the case that some of these concepts were tested for viability of serial production. There has been another VAG brand that showed their internal concepts a while ago and those were actually... quite advanced in development. At least that's what I heard from a friend of a friend.

True, Porsche is an SUV company after all
That's actually a concept I am quite excited about since it addresses the question whether the Porsche brand and character could be applied to other segments. And to be honest, I would buy it. Actually, I would be interested in many of these cars.
