Thing is no one argues that the Turbo S is even close to the 720S above 200kph. On a quarter mile the incredible launch however more than makes up for the slower acceleration above 200kph. It is quite a serious allegation to make that Porsche are tuning all the press cars all over the world. What about all the ones that did run 10.4 - did they just forget to tune those? That is why I think the conspiracy theory is far fetched. You would require so many people in so many places to be in on the “deal”. Much harder than cheating on an NBR laptime with one special model.
) with turbo charging often have a slightly higher boost pressure. Very simple and subtle "mod". Not a difficult task since the software has been already tested in the mules. 
The display can be adjusted to show less (=series production). Not really difficult. 0.1 bar more boost pressure already makes a hell of a difference, sometimes up to 50 hp.
Believe it or not but I never tried it. Shame on me. 
If indeed that rumored Turbo S Lightweight would come at some point, it might very well be the one to tempt me into a Turbo at some point in the future.
