Hamilton nearly failed the Q3! Read flag(Vettel crashed) with 2:15 time left.
LH goes across the line so he could do a last lap and the session ended 1.250sec later

Stewards cancel Hamilton’s two penalty points for practice start violations
The stewards have cancelled the two penalty points Lewis Hamilton was given for his practice start violations in the Russian Grand Prix.
They have instead issued a €25,000 fine to Mercedes over the error. Hamilton served two five-second time penalties during the race for the infringement.

Hamilton might be a brilliant driver, but he is an arrogant premadonna, with a very large chip on his shoulder and a poor sportsman. His attitude over the imposed penalties is a further evidence of that, as usual everyone is at fault except him. As a contrast when Ricciardo was awarded a 5 second penalty his response was “well I’ll just have to drive faster”.

But the team decided the practice start location - not HAM alone. So HAM was not aware of doing something wrong that´s why he protested. He got the penalty at the beginning of the race so he returned in the mid-field pulk - which is much worse than getting the 10 sec at the end - where he can try to make a gap larger than 10 seconds to the next guy following him.
RIC did know exactly that he made a mistake and he just could easily compensate this 5 sec by driving faster than a LEC, which was not a problem for him.

And it was the team that told him that it was ok to do the practice start where he did.
From his stand point, he wasn't trying to break the rule, he had checked first. Which means he and his team have a different interpretation of where the practice area starts and ends.
Masi already came out and said they were wrong in accessing him the penalty points. Thus vindicating his anger on the penalty. he is more mad about the 2 penalty points than the 10 seconds stop and go as those penalty points means he is personally at fault. He wasn't. The 10 second is a team penalty, between him and the team, and the facts supported that as the radio message was clear that while Hamilton had doubts the team told him it was ok, which it wasn't.

Boring race but at least those looked like real people in the stands. Not much mention of this. Hamilton got screwed- not that it is important but it was weird watching the teams pay tribute to the fight against racism followed by a 10 second handicap for the only black competitor in the field. Credit everyone for not pointing this out. He has done a remarkable job his entire career to not draw attention to anything other than his incredible speed.
Im sad they are not coming to North American this year!

He got 10 seconds for doing 2 practice starts at the wrong place, 5 seconds each. Nothing to do with him being black dude. Everyone on the grid is just another race car driver, they have no colour on their skin.
People get to drive an F1 race car mostly because of their own merits, their own driving ability, unless of course you have a rich daddy to buy a team and let you play race car driver like Lance.
Lewis is being ridiculous about 'diversity' in F1. Are teams suppose to just grab any person of colour off the street and drop them into a F1 car simply because they want to 'diversify'? He can't be serious. The lack of 'diversity' in F1 is simply due to parents not putting their kids into racing early in their lives and develop into a proper racer.
Depending on where one lives and the sporting culture of the area, kids develop their hobbies and skills differently. A black boy growing up in Manchester more than likely will pick up football instead of karting. Another black boy growing up in LA will likely pick up basketball or even Amrican football, or baseball before they knew what racing is. A Indian boy growing up in New Delhi very likely will pick up cricket over karting also.
Before our track was built, not many are into motorsport in the area, if they are, it's just stock car racing on ovals. Majority will be wanting to play hockey, we are Canadians after all. But now that the track is built, they found out you can race turning right also. Kids are coming out to see cars running on track all the time, and now that we have a proper go kart track opened, not one of those indoor amusement setups, we are getting a lot of families brining their kids to come and have some fun, and maybe drumming up their interest in motorsport.
The long term goal of our track is to develop a motorsport culture in Canada, something that is lacking in modern Canada. We get the kids early, and develop them early, progressing from karting up and we already running a driving academy. An alternative to playing hockey. It will take a long time, at least a couple generations before we might see results, but we are trying.

On Hamilton Bottas has an „Hamilton backlog“ whilst MV has an „Bottas backlog“ on LH ( 44/77 points).
And between Bottas and Verstappen is exactly one MV-backlog (33 points) 😳

Officer In Grand Jury Testimony: Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend Initially Said Taylor Shot At Officers

According to released grand jury testimony, it was Breonna Taylor who shot at police officers during a March 13 raid on her apartment, boyfriend Kenneth Walker allegedly told police before changing his story.
Former Officer Brett Hankison told investigators during an interview heard by the grand jury that Walker “had told him ‘she was the one who shot at us,'” The Daily Mail reported Friday. “Walker later said that he was the one who opened fire.”
As noted by the outlet, “One of Taylor’s neighbors also told investigators that police had told her that ‘some drug-dealing girl shot an officer.'”
Kentucky’s Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron agreed earlier this week to release recordings from the grand jury proceedings in the Taylor case after a former juror complained that “certain questions were left unanswered” and suggested that information presented to the grand jury was different from what Cameron presented to the public, reported The Daily Wire.
The released audio also reportedly indicated that officers said they knocked and announced themselves for up to one-to-two minutes before breaking down the door of the apartment.
“We knocked on the door, said ‘police,’ waited, I don’t know 10 or 15 seconds. Knocked again, said ‘police,’ waited even longer,” said Lt. Shawn Hoover in a recording from the day of the raid, The Daily Mail reported.
“So it was the third time that we were approaching, it had been like 45 seconds if not a minute,” said Lt. Shawn Hoover. “And then I said, ‘Let’s go, let’s breach it.'”
According to detective Michael Nobles, “officers made so much noise that an upstairs neighbor came outside and had to be told to go back inside,” the report noted.
Taylor was fatally shot during the raid after plainclothes officers returned fire. Walker, who had a legally registered gun, says he fired at the officers not knowing who was at the door, believing they might be “intruders.”
Hoover claimed during testimony that he believed the officers were “ambushed” by the pair.
“We were, in my opinion, we were ambushed,” he said. “They knew we were there. I mean, hell, the neighbors knew we were there.”
As outlined by The Daily Wire last Wednesday, the AG Cameron announced that “witness testimony indicated officers appeared to correctly execute a search warrant on Taylor’s apartment in connection with a drug case and that the two other officers involved in an ensuing shootout with Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, were justified in their use of force because Walker fired first.”
Two officers in the case were cleared, and another was charged with wanton endangerment in the first degree — which comes with a maximum sentence of five years — for shooting into a neighboring apartment while returning gunfire sparked by Taylor’s boyfriend.

Opening practice for F1 Eifel GP cancelled due to rain and fog
Mick Schumacher(Formula 2 driver standings leader) lost his chance to drive a Formula 1 car in this FP1.
FP2 also cancelled.
