Performance figures for new McLaren 765LT confirmed as customer car production commences to meet sold-out 2020 order-bank
    23 Sep 2020

    • Production of customer-ordered 765LT commences at McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey, UK
    • The most powerful and engaging McLaren LT yet is confirmed as exceeding key performance targets, including 0-200km/h acceleration achieved in just 7.0 seconds
    • 2020 production run sold-out and expressions of interest for 2021 now exceed total number of cars available
    • Only 765 individually-numbered examples of 765LT produced to customer order

The first customer-ordered examples of the new McLaren 765LT are now being hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, UK. Deliveries of the new McLaren ‘Longtail’ – the most extreme McLaren Super Series model to date – will begin at the end of this month.
Just 765 individually-numbered cars will be offered globally to customer order with 2020 production fully allocated and expressions of interest far exceeding total production.
The McLaren 765LT incorporates all of the renowned McLaren LT attributes, including driver engagement, minimised weight, track-focused dynamics, optimised aerodynamics and increased power. A comprehensive engineering programme of weight reduction has resulted in the superlight 765LT tipping the scales at 80kg* lighter than the already class-leading 720S. The 765LT’s bespoke aerodynamics features carbon fibre panels manufactured for the first time at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre in the Sheffield area, plus a ‘Longtail’ active rear wing.
The combination of the light weight (1,229kg at minimum dry weight) and the extreme power and torque of the 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 McLaren engine – 765PS and 800Nm respectively – underpins the incredible acceleration of the 765LT. As well as the expected sub-three second 0-60mph and 0-100km/h performance, the new LT is capable of reaching 200km/h (124mph) from standstill in just 7.0 seconds – 0.2 seconds ahead of target. Standing quarter-mile (400m) acceleration is similarly impressive at 9.9 seconds – again, better than expectations.
The first examples of cars specified by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) are being shared with customers. Operating to its established principle of always pushing the art of the possible, MSO have created a number of innovative and complex paint techniques which showcase a whole new level of personalisation possibilities.
The Strata theme unveils a unique, graphical ‘art in motion’ paint scheme, inspired by a city skyline and realised in a three-colour design requiring 390 hours of hand painting and finishing. Strata’s Azores orange base colour is fused with Memphis Red and Cherry black, the two overlay colours running through the paint scheme in opposite directions to meet and blend on the panels of the 765LT’s dihedral doors. The unique paint scheme is further enhanced by a cohesive design language across the entirety of the car, both inside and out. The brake calipers form part of the colour blend, the front calipers being Volcano Red and the rears Azores Orange, while the interior boasts a host of colour-coded features from the MSO Bespoke range, including orange seat perforation and a push-to-drink system in Memphis Red.
A second theme based around a 3D honeycomb theme, called ‘GEOHEX’, features a striking combination of MSO Bespoke Tarmac Black and Tokyo Cyan paintwork with Visual Carbon Fibre components from the MSO Defined range along with a number of matching interior details. One of the most captivating projects yet is a car with a full Visual Carbon Fibre (VCF) body, a demonstration model of which has already been produced in response to customer enquiries. The demonstration model has been built in Clear Gloss Carbon Fibre to demonstrate the purity and intricacy within the weave alignment. The 765LT MSO Bespoke Carbon Fibre Body is available in a number of bespoke tints which can vary in complexity depending on the intended design.

Looks like an excellent product Smiley

For me, personally: I have no real use for it, sadly. Not the right car for business appointments. Not ideal for weekend/holiday trips (cannot drive it adequately as my wife would object...). Not spending much time ob track days any longer (as I have nicer hobbies these days). All in all: I would not use it many times. And these times, I know from the last 20 years of high-performance car driving, would not stick in my memory like really nice experiences. So extremely nice in theory. But not so nice in real life Smiley

    Re: Mclaren 765LT

this car excites me the most right now of any coming soon - if its anything like the 600LTI drove turned up to 12 it will be insane to drive. A real visceral experience.

I talked to a McLaren dealer in CH about one, he made it sound as if the purchase would be comparable to buying Microsoft stock in the early 90's. Smiley

    Re: Mclaren 765LT

Guys, lets not turn into Pistonheads here which is obsessed with depreciation talk and every poster thinks he's a car dealer to the point of insulting anyone who has the stupidity to actually buy a new car when it will obviously lose fortunes so that these clever people can then use their incredible business acumen to buy a much cheaper second hand used car (usually on lots of finance )

Some petrolheads might want to buy new, particularly limited edition cars, to spec exactly what they want, savour and relish the experience and then keep and enjoy and covet for many years so the depreciation is an afterthought - just saying wink

    Re: Mclaren 765LT

    Congrats!

Nice to see you didn't order the senna seats - I love the lightweight seats in my 720 - makes the GT3 feel like you are driving a tractor in comparison given the seating position and padding.

720s v 992TT (cab) - didn't stand a chance unless cold/wet conditions - but such different cars so I will shut up from trying to compare them.
