I expect this car to be at around $180kCAD.

It will blow the doors off 991 GT3s in the handling department with a mid engine layout plus RS level suspension.

This is one car I am waiting for.

That would make it approx $150k US, 50% premium on GT4.  Too high of a guess IMHO unless that includes lots of optional equipment.

PAG is normally very readable on pricing structure. RS model of the GT3 cost about 30-40%% more. 50% more seems excessive but hey we are in 2020 Smiley

Even accounting for PDK and buckets as std I can't see that price in 2 years due to other RS enhancements.  PAG is built on a hierachy whereby they want owners to step up when replacing.  PAG will protect the GT3 as much as it can.  Pricing the GT4RS into GT3 territory while being, presumably, less capable would eliminate a lot of those IMHO.

You can pick up the original GT4 for almost half that price, it sounds better, it is 80kg (!) lighter and it will not deprecate further Smiley I am a bit tempted by the GT4 RS in a flashy PTS color, but only if Porsche has built it to compete with the GT3 and GT3 RS big boys. Otherwise I would never pay that money but go for a GT3 instead.

Why is the basic car so expensive in CH?

The starting price in Germany is the equivalent of .CHF102.000, whereas in Switzerland it starts at CHF 122.000. Big difference.

If you add to that full buckets and ceramic brakes, for example plus some bits and pieces you are there at

    CHF148.000.

    Re: GT4RS

Porsche has probably concluded that demand for GT cars is not significantly susceptible to the current economic issues.  They can always provide incentives to dealers that would allow significant discounting without being formally disclosed to consumers. That would make more sense than reducing price expectations.

Don't forget we still have the '' euro bonus '' that is taken off every new Porsche you buy.  Basically it follows the exchange rate. It can be up to 10% discount . So that 122 k base price is probably more 110k when you buy the car.

Sure, but we are talking 385 hp n/a vs. 370 hp turbos ... I assume that there are some 981 GT4 out there thinking they would be faster than a 991.2 base / S ... but you are right, there is always a bigger fish...

Knowing Porsche, they will jack up the price of the 992 GT3 to create room. So not a problem there.

Anything else as the new 4.0 non-GT Engine would be a total surprise and against Porsche business policy, maybe a little  increase of 15 HP over the 718 Spyder/GT4 version.

Most persistant rumor is 25-35 hp more (440-450).  Some of course maintain it will be a high as 475 hp with a GT3 derivative engine.

Like someone said, it won't have the RS badging if it can't withstand track duties. Heck, they have been thrashing the prototype at Weissach for like 2 years now.

As far as I know this car is gonna be Turbo Charged. I think is gonna just use a Carrera S engine with some tweaks. Might sound dissapointing but IMO makes sense to make a total different proposal than a GT3. Not NA and mid engine layout. PDK only too.

That's the info I have from some internal sources.... Let's see.

I will be more than a little surprised if this is the case.  Would only make sense if the GT4 and Spyder also used turbo motor.  Why bother to develop a new NA 4.0L motor if then could just throw in the existing 3.0TT?
