No chance any further down the grid however, the other teams are just a bit too far behind.

If the difference between the Merc and the RB is the same as these past seasons, there isn't a driver in the history of F1 that would win the championship in a RB against a half decent driver in the Merc... not... even... Alonso Smiley Smiley

Textbook perfect race win for Max. He has the quicker reaction off the line and the he basically just fucked off to the distance start to finish. 2nd easiest win for him after Spa last week.

For once the stewards didn't throw a penalty at Norris for being the inside car on battles. I mean, they have been consistent this season in handing out penalties mail maybe they finally realized those are penalty worth, they are just......racing incidents.

Alonso. wow, impressive driving. Too slow? Who? Me? I am saving my tires! Immediately pulled out a 6 second gap over his teammate. The old fox still got it!

It's amazing how big a difference is between Red Bull and Mercedes vs the rest of the field. Lapping everyone for the top 3 cars, with 2 stops even.

With these banked corners at Zandvoort a hit for everyone, could the cookie cutter Tilke tracks be on the way out? It's a breath of fresh air seeing cars take different lines through a corner.

Also weird that no one learnt anything, to defend at turn one, the outside line is the place to be, not the inside.

Should Red Bull dial the car back a bit to make life easier for Perez? Could have help with the Constructor title if they can get Perez to score points consistently. But that would also means compromising Max a bit. Tough call, but with their car clearly being the fastest out there, they could afford to, Max has enough skill to adapt and be competitive with Lewis.

Mercedes' strategy calls this year has gone down the drain. They are a mess. Dysfunctional is a fitting adjective. On the other side of the battle, Red Bull is doing a perfect job on EVERYTHING. Even traffics are parting like how Mosses parted the Red Sea for them to go through. Driver title is pretty much in the bag for Max. Would they go for the Constructor too? I think Honda would love to win that as a parting gift. How big a say can Honda give Red Bull?

Monza next. Mercedes have used up their freshest engines this weekend. All Mercedes powered cars actually. The Honda cars and Ferraris and Renaults will have a leg up against their competitors.

I hope Frankfurt's Lufthansa lounge will show the F1 race, I will be stuck there for 5 hours on a transfer next Sunday.

To be honest I was sure that Max will win with a way bigger margin, what a pace of both at the front. Max did all perfect at the start and from there on it was quite an easy ride for him. Yes Mercedes fucked up again with strategy,.... mail . The track looks cool, but the race was boring.... I am sure the drivers enjoy this track.... Max and Lewis are driving on a different plant this year....

If I were Botas I would want to get the hell away from a team that pits me for a vibration when I don’t have one. Obviously they just wanted to be certain Lewis was ahead of him after the extra stop for tires. I get team orders but they even told him to abort his fast lap. There should be limits to this crap.
If both your cars are winning fastest lap but you lose then I blame the drivers less than the team strategy.
Russel must be wondering what might be in store for him next year.
Awesome reporting by Whoopsy. None of it ‘lifted’ from the commentators, all of it spot on analysis. Hope you get the airport feed so we can enjoy more comments.

But honestly, what are you expecting???? Bottas did not deliver what so ever this year, he is lacking on pace with a huge margin…. That extra point can be very critical at the end of the season… we have seen more than one championship that was decided by only one point. I totally understand Mercedes, sure it doesn’t look pretty but I get it.
regarding Russel, I think it all depends on him, if he get the wins be up there with Lewis and he will be able to fight for the championship I am sure about that. We could get something like Alonso and Lewis 2007 with McLaren indecision

Dream track for Max to 'defend' against Hamilton, he can just squeeze Hamilton to the wall and taking out both cars in the process and maintain his points advantage to the last race. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If they both don't finish, the math is very clear, Hamilton can win the last GP and Max would still win the championship by finishing 2nd. Doesn't even matter if Hamilton score the fastest lap points to tie Max in points, as Max have more wins, the first tie breaker.

Damon Hill mentioned it during his interview with Autosport. The temptation is greatest for Max to do a Prost this weekend. Or the next. He said it would be best for FIA to be very clear of the consequences with a deliberate crash. Perhaps a points penalty.

Knowing the FIA wanted to stay 'handsfree' to not decide the championship, they won't do the points penalty. I am not even sure if the Stewards have the power to DQ Max for the last race if he crashed into Hamilton this week.

Fingers crossed for Max to act like a growth up and race clean, no matter the outcome, for both races. This season needs a proper finish.

Distractors will still want to claim whatever.

But this is quite telling, even when he mentioned he wanted develop another British champion.

Why did Mercedes signed Hamilton, when they already had Rosberg? They wanted to upgrade their drivers after Schumacher. They realized while Rosberg is good, having the chance to sign Hamilton is literally the deal of the century.

Yes Rosberg did ended up winning one WDC, but it was more about luck than anything. Not that he is a bad driver.

Signing Bottas is just a necessity, they needed a supporting driver, Bottas fits the bill perfectly. There isn't a better available drive than Hamilton, and Bottas seems to be a good one that can delivers. He did.

With Russell coming of age, it's only natural for Mercedes to sign him, as their future. Max is signed with Red Bull long term, they also aren't getting Norris out of McLaren, Ferrari got Leclerc locked up. Who else is better than these 4? Especially when they have Hamilton under contract already. Hamilton won't last forever, Mercedes need to plan ahead, they are the only one without a 'future' driver.

Next year will be a very interesting season to watch, to see how Russell stack up against the best. can he beat the GOAT in the same car? Will he be faster than Max in a Red Bull? Norris in a Mclaren or Leclerc in a Ferrari?

Unlike others on the grid, Hamilton isn't really an 'I' player,, but a team player. There is no I from him when he is racing. watching him caring for Bottas and try to get him going against the competition is a telltale thing.

Funny how some wanted to brand Hamilton as a cry baby even when stuff doesn't even sticks. Like honestly, he never complained about stuff, and Alonso, Vettel before whines 10 times worse, and now even Max and Horner whine a boat load more than Hamilton ever did. heck Mazepin whines even more so.
