I had a look at it, too.
A nostalgia trip for me. I had a cinnabar red one as well, but with black interior.
I like the idea of those cars, but the exhaust drone at freeway cruising speed really got on my nerves.
And, of course, they don't have Porsche-level brake capacity.

Funny, I almost got one but my father wanted something for practical for me, so instead of a M3, he got me a 325i because I was a student. I bought my first M3 shortly before I got married, the E36, amazing car and super powerful (286 hp) for it's time (1993). It replaced the 993 Targa, I really hated this car, it felt like a more powerful version of the VW Beetle.

I used to be really annoyed that all US-Spec 911's had sunroof included in the 996 generation, but it's even more sinful that you couldn't order one of these early M3's without sunroof in US...
My Euro Spec 1979 635CSi was sunroof-delete (couldn't even get that model in the US until several years later with reduced power, let alone without a sunroof or with the cool dog-leg gearbox and slender bum).
