Here's my chique functional Valentine gen 2 mount I fashioned - Mike I'll give you the design for free. In many cases it seems to have more range but still does not pick up over small dips and hills. I brought a back up unit as I read Mike is having many failures on this new one.
The Touring is truly a Porsche in the spirit of a 73 S - modernised!!! 
Gear set great, no tramline, minimal hunting, good high speed cornering, quick but of course not GT2RS quick 100 up. Never in my life of 62 Porsches have I ever gotten 320 miles to a tank at 100-130 mph a plus. But of course I was running interstate not the 100-160 of two lane back roads, so maybe not a fair comparison.

What have we learned other than the RIG is the TITZ?
America's Heart is beating with power, even though the Coasts are rotten. Productive real goods: WY is a heart of ranching, mining and oil and gas. NB is a heart of oil and farming and ranching, green with trees and amazing water. IA is a giant green farm, only blighted by toxic filthy wind mills. A study on what happens to the ecology and agriculture when the windmills kill all the birds and bats is needed.
One picture of life -- 600 trucks logging required sleep time at one truck stop, carrying manufactured goods. This Nation --- Just fkg alive.

Agree on the windmills. Hideous. Farmers around here lease some land to the power companies to make extra money, and the eco-freaks call this a win:

He likes his Touring! Great snacks, great snoozes, hammer down. 3900 miles of tiring fun.
After getting petrol near Chicago outbound, behold the evil engine light!!
. Luckily it ran another 400 miles to pick up Sabre, ...... and another 1950 back with out crapping out.
And it gave an opportunity for roadside to pay for the 3 hour tow from home to the dealer, and replace the windscreen which cracked from a rock in WY home bound.

It runs well and seems fast enough loping along 105-135mph on the freeway, where most of our cops reside.
But get it on the Wyoming 2 lane, and suddenly .....
the gears seems too tall..... 110 3rd, 140 4th [not], .... and finally you realise this what a turbo S is for: slowing to clear a hill or identify oncoming, then hammering to 155-165 mph, over and over again. It just is too power and torque short for that , to be as efficient as a turbo.
But all in all, my favourite 911. Less showy than GT2RS, much more nimble than a turbo S when slicing and dicing heavy traffic on 2 lane in the rain, you can just drop it in between tight cars over and over and over. Obviously you can run harder in big rain in a turbo S, but just changing off Cup 2s would improve deep rain speeds.

My guess is: Paying attention, adapting to traffic, good radar warner and...a good traffic law lawyer.
