the-missile:conner:the-missile:conner:Hi,
are there any ideas how much horsepower the 992 Turbo (without S) will have?
620hp
I absolutely cannot imagine perhaps 590 !?
complete guess
My guess: Something like the most powerful version of the predecessor and that was the Exclusive Series Turbo S. So my bet is either 610 hp or 600hp flat.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
conner:RC:I heard 600 flat but I may be wrong.
600 sounds good but I don't really believe it yet ... maybe 590
Anything from 590-620 will feel very similar

Honestly, I don't feel any difference between the 580 on the regular turbo S versus the 607 in my Exclusive. Both just feel bonkers period.
Between generations, the gap from turbo to turbo S was 30-40hp, with 992 turbo S coming in at 640hp, regular turbo should be 600-610.
I am leaning towards 600.

It's growing on me, rapidly now! Best taste in the 992 range up until now imo.

I like the 992 design, the only thing I do not like is that they barely changed the front lights but this will change with the facelift. The 992 Turbo S looks very muscular and futuristic, the lines flow in a certain very technical way, I really like how it looks. I just don't like how it sounds and the performance, amid 720S and Co., could be better as well. especially in the over 200 kph speed range.

I'm starting to get used to the design, I just don't "understand" the design of the front corners, just seems such a mess. Have to confess I haven't seen one in real life yet though, and I know these kind of details are always exaggerated on pictures and tend to vanish in real life.

Have we ever seen a .1 model since the 996 that is completely coherent ? That is always solved with .2 who is the more finished design.

Agreed, Porsche seems to do this on purpose, which is unfortunate.

There is only so much that can be done to meet the regulatory, aerodynamic, and cooling demands while maintaining the look of a 911 Turbo. The iteration of the 911 over the years with changing parameters is much more difficult to meet than having a near clean sheet version with each generation.

Not so on the 997 imo, there the phase 1 is the more accomplished design in my view.

Just shows we're all different, I much prefer the 997.2, the rear lights on the .1 look really old fashioned and clunky IMO

Whoopsy:IF only Porsche made the 992 say 15% smaller..........
Smaller car, lighter car, more nimble car.
Agreed, but they always get fatter and heavier. Pretty soon they'll be like American road boats from the '60's with fins and allAt some unknown point, they're no longer sports cars.

Turbo S is slowly catching up to the Panamera's (970) entry level curb weight
