My BMW dealer just got a Marina Blue M5, went down to have a look at it, but one thing let to another and ended up getting this Z4 instead.  Not quite brand new as it was a demo but getting 11k off MSRP, like 16% off. Can't complaint when the price is only like CAD$56k, a 4.0 would be north of CAD$80k list. 

Another plus is the mostly all inclusive interior and options, very unlike Porsche where I had to check the order sheet 1000 times just to see if I miss any options, and unless I check EVERY box, there is bound to be a missing option on the Porsche or 10. 

Yes it's only the 4 banger with 250hp and not the straight 6 with 380hp, and yes I just got my white Speedster, but man this thing is way too tempting to not get it. The 2.0L T4 with almost 300 ft-lb between 1500rpm and 4000rpm is surprisingly powerful enough for picking up speed from rest. 

I think this new generation Z4 is super handsome, there isn't a bad angle and the interior is awesome. Best thing is, while the screen is a touch screen, with the iDrive controller at the ready, I can control everything and input everything without touching the screen at all and can be done in a very safe manor even when driving. 

Best thing is, the car is automatic and not the ancient manual gearbox, and the top is also automatic! 

It is mostly for my girlfriend so I won't drive it much, but it's so refreshing to be inside a modern BMW interior. And boy do I miss that amazing iDrive.

I like the new Z4.

It does look good and has some presence on the street. All that's missing is a six-cylinder in the 250 - 280 hp range. No need for the 340 hp of the M40i-version.

Actually, I was always thinking about getting a used Z3 M Roadster...real fun car, I had the M3 with the same engine but didn't get the chance to buy the Z3 M Roadster because it came later. Drove it on a couple of occasions, real fun to drive.

I actually almost walked out of BMW with 3 new cars . This, the M5 and a M2 Competition. 

The M2 Competition was used, couple years old but only 5,000km on the clock, and the asking was CAD$55k. Black on black too.

M5 is sold now, my sales told me some Chinese kid came in with his father after I left and bought the car on the spot.

Z4 drives really nice, the steering wheel is thicker than anything Porsche offers and feels much better, the new style seat design looks good and is very comfortable, so much better than the buckets in my Speedster haha.

Personally, I think Mercedes needed to step up their design game big time, their cars are ugly on the outside and ugly on the inside, way way way behind their German counterparts, literally what were they thinking approving those ugly designs? Outside of the AMG GT and the G wagon, everything else is generic looking exterior wise, and the interior looks like 100 kindergarten kids collaborated on the design.

And $495 'documentation fees'  The PDI and freight goes up to $4000 for the M5. But then again Mercedes, Porsche, Audi an everyone else do the same thing. 

We can't avoid shipping charge as cars have to be shipped over. 

My gf like white cars so. And now it's like a matching pair with the white Speedster and white Z4.

I leased an Elantra for my second wife and now she is paying off her Honda CRV.  She buys her own shoes and purses and pays bills around the house. Works out well.  She also has a better education than I do.

Swiss Cup Challenge at HHR 9-11 July. Only thing is I have to fly through Zürich instead of flying to Frankfurt in order to avoid quarantine.

I actually gave her the keys to my Exclusive. She was complaining about too much pressure driving such an expensive and flashy car and she is scared to scratch the carbon rims after she asked how much were they.

She love white cars and wanted a convertible, but she can't drive a manual so the Speedster is a no go for her.

She mentioned before she loves the styling of the new Z4. I like it too so there is the very logical explanation to all of your questions 

As I said before, I was there to look at the M5 but they happened to have a white Z4 in stock, stars aligned.

Why not white hehe? Not like I haven't bought white cars before. This is my 11th white car, I have had 27 black ones, 7 blue ones and 7 grey/silver ones also plus others.  This is also my 7th BMW so it's not like I haven't bought a BMW before haha. But I only ever had 4 Mercedes ever though.

Haha yes. but then again I didn't have to do much negotiating, BMW was offering 4k off on all in stock cars, the dealer itself provided a further 7k discount on top of that. 

Z4s aren't selling well, so it doesn't much to motivate them to sell a car to a willing buyer
