CAR Magazine Dec. 2004 Issue
I know that there have been several post regarding the " Car of the year " in this forum but there were several interesting quotes that I thought were interesting to post for our members those whom didn't get a copy of the Performance Issue of CAR
Thanks to fanch to leave me his copy .
Just a few quotes I thought were very well pointed out.
Aston Martin DB9
A beautiful car when driven at eight tenth, but setting up the Aston for anglesey was at the bottom of Dr. Bez's list. Forget the track; it's a GT.
TVR T350t
Shocking. The engine just wouldn't pull in second I thought I was going to launch it in turn 3.
Porsche 997S
I had a bead of sweat running down my forehead. On the limit, there were a lot of balance changes for me to react to. Best brakes of the day.
MB CL65 AMG
I never once felt in charge. The electronic read-out didn't match the gear I was in, and at times it would kick another gear in.
Porsche GT3 RS
This is set for track, so it's predictable in the faster corners. You can drive the nuts off it. The lap time never lies.
Gallardo
Slower than the GT3 and Noble, but what a fantastic engine. It has mega traction, and is quite oversteery. Don't lob it into corners too fiercely: you have to be smooth.
and of course the winner
Porsche 997S
The Porsche feels indestructable, one of the finest-built cars in the world. A machine sure to offer just as much pleasure in 10 years as it will today.
