What a bullsh!it!!
First of all: there is no doubt, that a NSX-R is a very good and a very fast car.
But on a fast track like Sugo there would be the F50 in front with Murcielago, GT2 and Gemballa fighting for second.
After these 4 cars (and a lot of air) the NSX-R would fight the 996 4S.
Did you notice, that the only car using the curbs (with the whole car!) is the NSX-R?
Poor japanese people: they are not allowed to build cars with more than 280 hp - so they have to test them like this...

That was fun, thanks for posting! I agree with the rest of you, the running order seemed illogical. I would have expected the Lambo to easily dispatch the NSX-R, particularly on the straights. How much does a Murcielago weigh, it seemed like a handful for that driver? Also, I wonder if they were all on equivalent spec tires.

It doesn't surprise me at all that the NSX-R is close to the Murci:
it has an uncompromising track oriented susp. set up
It has very sticky track oriented tyres and no power assistance
It's also extremely lightweight(something like 1200 kgs vs 1800 of the Murci)
If you add to this a better driver it isn't surprising to see them so close.
