absent:Just found out what the wholesale market is, my dealer bought back 2 cars from 918 owners for $200k a pop (over the MSRP).
Purchasing a new 918 proves to be a deal of a Century.........
Well...don't tell me...

Leawood911:Stripes tcircleample. Badges to sample. Faux R packages could be another money generator.
in the near future marketing will make the R available to anyone. and in five years the standard 9-1 will run circles around it. Seen this unfold many times.
Well, Porsche is offering 'stripe to sample' to 911R buyers right now.
Not quite to sample but we can pick from the whole range of 3M's production, basically any colour from the 3M range.
Not just the stripes, but the side graphics and script too an be of different colour.

that may mean that the 911R with most " weirdo / off putting " one -of -a -kind stripe and or side graphics color choices may be the highest-valued one in 20-25 yrs ....as long as its first owner can document/ cleverly manipulate social media right after delivery to generate , on purpose, " mocking/ derision "' so that every young budding car nut on the interweb becomes aware of it .....we know how that " retrospectoscope " auction market works ...look at genuine unmolested " Paul Newman " - dialed Rolex Daytona Chronographs back 45 yrs ago ...dealers had " new old stock " of them until the early 80s because contemporary buyers vastly preferred the more low key traditional sub dial ones....look at their vintage values now !

Lukas:Sorry, but I think yellow is so very wrong for the R. The R is supposed to be an understaded roadcar with GT in the veins yet elegant and classy, etc. If someone want's a bold color the GT3 RS is a better fit. The R should be white, silver or maybe black.
Stripes understated?

Yeah, they are possible to delete on the order for the understated look which would be my choice.
I have issues with yellow on all cars, but more so on the R and think it just looks wrong. But each to their own as long as the owner is happy...

ey ey ey.... I think the car sounds hideous and the behavior tells me that the driver better would have let the electronic Gizmos switched on. I like the green stripes on it.... other than that, just looks like a 911 looks like, hard to tell the difference between R and no R! Not even to think about comparing this car to the GT3 RS which looks a million times better.
Did you guys notice at the video how the launch seems to have problems with traction? The driver has to back off from the gas to get grip enough to then accelerate.... or maybe it was the electronic control of the launch that backed off...
