Impressive specs. Biggest handling (judging by the previuos gen Z06) & performance for the buck IMO, you can't beat that!... if you can get over the boy racer looks
?'d be interesting to see a comparo at the ring b/w the new Z06 and the F430 by Sport Auto, there could be some surprises I wager. But I suppose the Z06 won't be sold in europe?
Carlos a big effort will be made to sell american sport cars in Europe. The dollar/euro ratio is too delicious for US auto maufacturers to pass up!
Is the 2,900 the weight? if so, glad to see some sportcars don't get fatter and fatter with each model change

If I was solely focused on performance and daily driving (like a Porsche) there is no better car to buy.

I hope the 997TT is under 3000... Anybody think it's a possibility?
Yes, that is the claimed weight (1,318kg)- if true, quite impressive for 500hp (much lighter than 2.7L Boxster). They used Aluminum instead of steel frame and carbon fiber hood and front fenders. I'm especially glad to see the big Brembo brakes (looks like GT3 size).

It certainly will skunk the 997S and probably do the same to the 997 TT.

Skunk the 997TT with 500hp? The Chevy will need some 200 extra hp to achieve that
Honestly, the only advantage of that car is its low price. Why should one buy one if one can afford the best?

Funny, to me its more focused as a Ferrari than Porsche, the new C6 even looks like a cheap version of a Ferrari. The 977TT is a more is a more different concept with its rear seats, AWD, german engineering, etc. I don't think it will detract sales from neither the 997TT, F430 or Gallardo though, different worlds. Inspite the performance, I don't think this car will satisfy at the same level as any of the above.

It's incredibly sad that a Chevy will have a lightweight aluminum chassis before the $100k Porsche GT3.
Those specs are almost unbelievable. Something like that should be close to CGT ring times.

Well, the C5 Z06 had the same Ring Time as the GT3 MkI and 996TT. Now they're adding 100HP and bigger brakes and rubber. My guess it that it'll be in 2005 GT2 territory, but not CGT territory (That has another 100hp still and mid-engine and Porsche tuning)

You're probably right. I would guess that it comes down to the degree of track tuning and development. However, with a little more power than a GT2 and bigger tires it seems like it has the potential to be faster than the 2005 GT2.
