bluelines:Did all your suspicious neighbours move out? Flashy cars used to be an issue in RC's home, now they have become normal
No, my neighbors all need a doctor, so... You get the point. Especially now, doctors are highly valued in my neighborhood, me and wife get now saluted by people who didn't even look at us in the past.
Also, my wife may have a midlife crisis or it is just the stress...not that I don't like it (cars and all).

RC:RC:bluelines:It is a EUR 160k car. What did she expect? EUR 300 per month?
Certainly not but I can get a brand-new 992 Carrera S, same price, ordered to specs, for 600 less a month.
This is supposed to be a "fun" car, not a money killer. We'll see...

McLaren offered a slightly used (very low mileage) 570S with a 0.75 lease factor (36 months, 10k km).
Porsche offered a 1.25 lease factor (36 months, 10k km).
Now my wife is seriously looking at a McLaren but I doubt she is going to like it (traction). We'll see...her heart is still at that GT3.
Let her try the 600LT, she might like that

Or a 675LT. Still think that's the best driver's car McLaren has made to date.
She will certainly like the 600LT but not how much she has to pay for it.
I guess the whole thing will not be possible, she badly wants the GT3 but dealer is not going down with the price. Dealer offered an "alternative" for 1000 EUR less per month (actually a pretty sweet deal) but she doesn't like it. No GT3 engine, no wing, no...well...no GT3. No deal.

The 675LT would rather be for me but even I cannot really afford it.
Sorry but my Huracan Performante will stay a very long time with me and buying a second expensive sports car is only going to happen if it is something very special and an occasion, unless my wife (she has her own business) decides that she wants her own "weekend fun car". Of course I always try to influence her because I want to drive that particular car as well but she needs to really be in love with it and it seems she loves the GT3.

This is not about money or interest rates, this is about the convenience of the lease (various reasons).
Why should my wife buy the car if she doesn't know if she really likes it? A 18 months lease would be perfect for this purpose.
I buy a lot of things but usually, with one exception, not cars. I switch them way too often.

I don't understand. I thought she liked the GT3 a lot.
BTW, if she ends up not liking it, sell it. It would be easy to sell if a woman owned it and you're not stuck in a lease for 18 months.
But whatever you do, don't buy a black one. She'll sell it in a a couple of months.

She loves black cars, she hates it she got a white C63.
Of course she loves the GT3...now. What about in two months or six months? She is a woman, women change their opinions and tastes so often, I already gave up to try to do anything to please her, I just go along and adapt.

996FourEss:Should buy the GT3 mate. Black looks great... she will love it and btw pretty cool to find a lady that loves a gt3
Told her again today but she asked me to negotiate again and I did. Not much for the dealer to do here, he offered me a new car in almost similar value for 1000 EUR less a month, so the dealer certainly is moving but there isn't much he can do about that GT3. Beautiful car... No, if I would buy it and surprise her, she would kill me. This is her car, she wants to get it herself. Thank god.

When the lease expires on the Perfomante?

a new car in almost similar value, but not a GT3, right?
I have a feeling that if you stop communication with the dealer and just sit on it, they will call you back in 2 weeks and make a deal with the GT3. They want your business more than you need their car.

How times have changed. I remember only a year ago one couldn't find a GT3 nor a GT3RS at MSRP and RC saying whoever wants one will get one at the end. I guess he was right all along. I agree with Tim, at the current situation, not many will think about getting a new car so it's probably a good time to make a deal.
I have seen absolutely crazy deals in the pre owned market here in the last month. A dealer in Dallas had a 720S for 190k. Dawn for 214k. Mulsanne speed for 164k. Many cars with more than 50 percent depreciation at less than 3 years of age. I haven’t looked thoroughly, those are just a few that I’ve seen... With the shale oil producers cratering, the local market is weak here. Of course these cars are shopped nationally but weak local floor traffic can’t help.

I should add: Lease cars, buy stocks.
If the Performante is not lease that would be a first for you.
I buy the cars I love and no, it is not a first for me. Should have kept the GT500 though, so much fun. Sold it well, lost little but wasn't really worth selling it. Over 1000 Nm torque (tuned), RWD and manual, nothing can beat this.

DaveGordon:2020 GT500 looks like a lot of fun to me. Much more advanced than the old car. I thought they wouldn’t make it to Europe but there’s a couple registered and for sale here.
Yep, the new GT500 is very interesting but I had the previous one, tuned to over 765 hp and with over 1050 Nm torque. Car was super reliable and tuned to perfection (Peter Schropp, the Mustang GT500 guru in Germany), should have kept it. I cannot say I always had fun driving it (it was a handful to drive fast) but it certainly would have been a good addition to my current car.
