Yes, next gen Macan very likely electric but with the current crisis and oil prices down the gutter, I'm not so sure anymore.

They can because nobody stands up against China. So many Western companies have production in China, some of it very critical production like meds and parts for vital tech, so many Western companies sell products to China...we are dependent and China knows it, so do Chinese knock-off manufacturers.
A friend, I think I told you guys about him, he collects watch "replicas" (=knockoffs, fakes) and he recently received some Rolex models I was shocked how good they looked. They are perfect (seriously). I compared the Batman and the Pepsi to mine (original) and I couldn't see a difference, I had to be careful not to mix them up. Even the crown in the glass is there, even the movement sounds right, it is unbelievable. If we permit this going on, in the end, China will destroy our industries. Seriously.

I don’t support this kind of copying, but one must ask... if the replica is truly indistinguishable what advantage does the original offer?
if we had molecular level 3D printing would you still buy the original? If so then maybe what is being bought and sold here is marketing/branding not engineering and innovation.

Thing is, similarities are mostly skin deep, they just made it look like a Macan, safety due example will likely be very different, Chinese like to use ringers in the crash tests for example which differ from the actual production versions. Then there is the quality of the components, durability, etc. You are getting a 13,000€ vehicle.

Exactly. Now imagine cheaper knock-off parts in planes for example...
Sorry but I do not support knockoffs, they seem to be harmless but they aren't. They destroy businesses little by little, they destroy the original work/development and they even can pose a serious danger.
