It may look a bit odd (although I like it), but I imagine it contributes quite a bit of downforce on the Ring...

This earlier test mule of the 992 GT3 Touring looks like S-duct may be a possibility... Smiley

Wonder if the split in the S-duct is because Porsche is using a concept similar to Lamborghini’s ALA system.  If one recalls correctly, Porsche helped Lamborghini develop its groundbreaking aerodynamics package.

Not sure, but it reminds me of the Ford GT40 dual ducts - maybe some kind of aero advantage?

Hence the earlier comment about an ALA-like approach of stalling of the splitter at each corner.

I remember when the Performante was the first ALA car and it had WAY faster laptime than non-Performante (but hard to know the contribution of ALA because tires, engine, suspension, weight, etc. were all improved too).  Does anyone have an educated guess how much ALA contributes to Ring time?

At least they can retain the latch of the standard car‘s bonnet/hood. Also looks like the radiators for water have moved inward and are adjacent to the central oil cooler.

I think I'm out with this 992 generation, after 997 and 991 which I both have loved dearly. 997 aesthetically + raw character of the RS and the 991.2 from a dynamic standpoint + engine. But the 992 strangely leaves me cold at this stage (had the same with 991.1 though), time for a change when the time comes. yes

I have the same Frank! (Allthough I am not a customer, so Porsche couldn't care less). The whole 992 range has left me strangely unimpressed. It looks ok, but all the details seem to be ... just weird. I hate the awkward shut line of the front fenders/bumper/bonnet, I really dislike the whole rear spoiler, the misaligned brake lights. The aerokit rear bumper is a mess. The turbo... well, at least on the pictures it doesn't really look coherent, and the same goes for these GT3 pictures. The front bonnet with the aero ducts takes away the entire look of the face of the car. The weirdly straight/diagonal lines of the bumper air inlets... nope. Can't say too much about the rear yet, as it is covered in camo. Leaves to say... I am worried about the future of the Porsche design language. The overall shapes are ok, but they seem to ruin it with all the details.

I agree with you guys.  But I am so relieved the new GT3 is NA.  Do I wish it was smaller and weighed less? Sure.  But I can look past that because it will have so many other emotional components that I want.  I’ll wait for the .2, manual Touring.  Birch green, anyone?  :)
