Futch,
Just stumbled upon this thread (still struggling a bit with the forum layout as a newbie). Needless to say, fantastic purchase - F1 is THE car to have - no more words needed!
As you are still expanding your collection, and as you rightfully mention that the 205 gti is an equally emotional prized possession...what are your thoughts on Group B homologation cars? 205 T16 springs to mind, and you already mentioned the Delta Integrale...Another one I'd 'have' to own in my collection would be the Sport Quattro as a remembrance to the simply fab S1 E2.
The only reasoning against those purchases could presumably be the price tag, since they've all skyrocketed in recent years.

François, out of curiosity, how does a display like this work?
Does McLaren HQ call you up and say "Dear Mr. Futch, we're going to have a parade at Le Mans, and we would be thrilled if your car would be part of that!", and then they send a truck to pick it up? And do they provide the driver, or do you have people working for you/friends who drive the cars?
I don't mean to pry, it's just that it is something that I can not imagine how it works in real life. No need to answer if I crossed a line here...

No worries at all!
Great pics by the way, hadnt seem them.
McLaren contacted me, and invited me to drive the car for a lap of the big circuit. I accepted except the drive because I was racing the same day. Paul Lanzante's son, Dean, drove the car.
And that's it really. Yes MCL paid for the transport. In return, I was invited to one of their exclusive trackdays in Silvertone and to their future ones too, it will be alongside the P1 GTR program, next one is in Barcelona I think.
Really super nice guys, clearly concious of their great heritage so they're always happy to have a couple of F1 GTR tag along.
I've decided to change the way I own the F1, I used to drive on the road but it's too compromised, mostly the noise. On the track it's even worse because the tyres are truly shit adn the chassis is too soft. So I'm putting it to race specs with slicks and I'm only gonna use it on trackdays, more sensible. Until I change my mind and put it back to road specs.
Woah, sounds like they're really cool about it and appreciate their clientele.
I can imagine using it for trackdays only... the sound! Oof! And it's not like you don't have enough road cars... ;-)
Thanks for clarifying and take care!
Cheers Joost

So - the question. How much does it sell for? And.....go!
Apparently there's an F1 in Chicago, and its owner took it to an exotics show/meetup (at a McDonald's, haha).

If he posts about the goner rides which I read about few days ago on his social media account, he might hit a nerve on RT and get some of the diehard P fans aggravated, if not go into atomic mode
His honest reviews are very much appreciated and gets you to make the right decision, thanks Futch
