crayphile:Porker:Looks great! Given you're already into quite an expensively specced RS, would you be tempted to go for the MR package? Haven't seen customer cars with the package on GT3 RS's yet, but I know Topaz' owner has done it on his GT2.That's a good idea. I might look into that. I have driven the GT2RS MR ( you can guess whose ) on the road and was amazed how different the steering feels and how compliant it was on the road, can only imagine how good it is on the track.
Trust the guys at Topaz to do a beautiful and amazing job I know Nabil's business partner has got a black GT2 RS and that car is stunning !

nberry:The MR package for the RS is estimated to be around $100,000. A hefty cost for marginal gains (three seconds faster on the Ring compared to stock).
well same can be said for the GT3RS over the regular 3 but it is not that easy. the sum of its part makes it stunning. Manthey Racing is, as the name says, a racing team. there is passion there and attention for details is amazing.
once you start dealing with them, you will never stop.

crayphile:pgouveia:Wow.....the final result is impressive, nevertheless I expected to have that paint quality on the final product not on extra service and cost to the customer
Do you have the same wotk on the other cars?Generally only on non-metallic cars that I plan to keep longer term - the transformation with the Level 5 is spectacular especially with a flat black car. There is no comparison to a newly delivered car with factory paint to one that has been sanded down and polished in this manner - it is night and day.
Removing part of the clear coat is not something that will result in repainting in the future? PPF will need to get replaced in a few years if there is another round of sanding then you will require repainting. Unless I am missing something.

There should never be a need for further sanding just more polishing in due course.

The sanding is performed to flatten the surface and create a smoothness that leads to mirror-like reflections. The polishing is done independently of the ppf although it is usually done prior to installing that as well to provide a flawless base to apply the film on.
Cray, great car, great video and neat little touches.

The difference in price between the GT3 and GT3RS is about $20,000. Also, there is a huge visual and performance difference.

. Now if I could only drive it some more .
Any initial impression considering the other cars you own?
Best to compare against 991.1 GT3RS. Feels marginally more precise in this steering, I swear the gear change is even quicker ( if that were possible ), and the sound is more subdued with the GPF. Normal suspension setting feels softer for me. I immediately put everything into sport when I drive.

On my local track, the difference between the GT3 Manual and RS is about 1 second
Remember that the very fast Ring time for the RS was done on the special R tires (that last one day or less) and are not made for the GT3 (on purpose from the Marketing department).
I think there should be a bigger difference than 3 second on Nordschleife with MR package on RS, if same driver and conditions...

Hi Nick,
not sure where you see a difference of $20K only between the RS and the 3 unless there was some discount at some point - more like closer to $40K and if you start playing with the WP then it is skyrocketing. The RS performance gap is little from the chassis, a bit more from the tyre width and mainly from the R rated Cup2.
You invest close to $30K from MR on your 3 and you have a superior package than stock RS.

CGX car nut:For the typical advanced sport driver, a second difference in time isn’t significant once variance comes into play. The manual brings greater driver involvement on the street too.

I agree with you Nick.. At one point in time I was tempted to MR my GT2 until I found out that 1) car will become unbearable to drive on normal roads regularly, and 2) a $100k price of the kit will be better off spent towards buying the new RS6.
Very nice. Got similar caps for the Turbo, but not the RS. Will yell at my dealer on Monday :) BTW: Received a "Supplement to the Driver's manual" today from Porsche, with guidelines regarding tire pressure, wing adjustment and removing the inserts from the front diffusor.

The lettering is in green, it would not fit your Miami blue . Maybe only sent to Lizard owners with WP ?
I did receive in fall a supplement for the tire pressure ( it is because the approval of the Michelin Cup R that has a much higher tire pressure ) , but do not remember about anything regarding wing or inserts.
Could you tell us what it is saying regarding those inserts from the front diffusor ?

This replaces the green script RS on the original cap?
These caps are written in green, the pic does not show it well . The gift is the smaller cap

- The front axle downforce can be raised by removing both insets on the diffusor duct. Must be carried out with adjusting the rear wing to 5 degrees
- Replace the rear wing fastening screws whenever they are loosened
- It is not permissible to adjust the rear wing with a steep angle on public roads
- After track use bring the rear wing to the standard setting -1 degree
That's the first thing I did to my GT2RS, crank the wing all the way down and remove the 2 plastic inserts.
But even with the wing all the way down, it isn't noticeable compared to a normal angle wing.

I had the same experience. Maybe because the speed on a track is not that high most of the time
