Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

Hey. I just purchased a 2003 Boxster S. I simply wanted something that would get my old ticker pumping, and bring back the joy of getting into a car in a time where the automotive industri is great at churning out luxury-packed blah-mobiles, that essentially do everytning possible to deminish the driving experience. No noise, no wheel-response, no sound, no road contact. No thrill. At any rate, I now find myself mostly cruising around, feeling no uncontrollable urge to floor it, do donuts or show off the car in any way.
In some ways this is quite ok, but on the other hand it's a darn shame to have a sportscar and not pick the fruits. Kinda like dating a pornstar and never getting blowjob, I reckon..hehe.
So unless I wanna risk my own and the lives of others, where would you suggest I go to get the most out of my car? Porsches dirving school in Germany? (I live in Denmark btw) Local tracks and events? Hire a retired racecar driver who can teach me the tricks? Read a book..? What?

I'm a fairly competent driver, but by far a racecar driver, and I just wanna make sure I get the most fun out of my car.

Let me know what you'd suggest

I definitely suggest some fun at a local track (with a Porsche DE instructor if you like).

    Enjoy

Re: Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

try a porsche DE, or some autocross/driver education programs your local porsche club is a good place to get started.

Re: Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

ask your dealer for track events.

Re: Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

Take a drive over to Amsterdam, the girls there may or may not be pornstars but they are better than reading a book.

Re: Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

Try some local driver education events, start with one or two which are base trainings, they don't have to be from Porsche.
And yes, the Porsche DEs are great. You can start with the easiest event and raise your skills. Very nice but also not cheap.

And a little word of caution: the Boxster is a very nice and sporty car but due to the mid engine setup, it can be very tricky at the limit too.

Re: Driver's Ed: How to get the most out of my Boxster?

Ok, thanks a lot guys. Ill check it out. Just seems awfully pricey joining the local Porsche events, but if it's really worth the effort Ill look into it.

"And a little word of caution: the Boxster is a very nice and sporty car but due to the mid engine setup, it can be very tricky at the limit too. "
Really? Of all the reviews Ive read on the Boxster S, Ive never heard that. Normally a mid-engine car is a nightmare on the limit, but from what Ive heard, the Boxster is almost perfectly balanced, forgiving and has predictable driving dynamics.
Im sure Ill have to be fast to catch a drift before it turns into a donut, but compared to E.g. the M3 it's supposed to be a dream. Have I been misinformed, or do you just have different experiences?
