    my first problem in my 997s

    yesterday i had my first problem in my 997s ,after 4000km without any trouble . i arrived home ,turn off the ignition key,got out of the car and guess what ,the engine was still running!i looked at my hand ,the key was with me ,it took me few seconds to understand that they was something wrong with the car..i opened the door ,placed the key again ,turn it on and off ,and everything was ok,the engine shut down..it did not happen again and hope it wont

    Maybe your car is equipped with a special "Valet Parking Package"

    Dimitri, take your car IMMEDIATELY to your dealer, he should definetely check for faults with the PST2 or (hopefully he alread has it) the PiWiS and contact Porsche immediately.

    This isn't supposed to happen!

    hi rc ,they have pst2 and piwis,is it that serious?you scared me ,i will send it right away..thanks rc..

    See....This is why I never drink & drive...ah, anymore.

    I have to admit Dimitri's story just scared the "ba-jesbus" out of me. My 997S comes in three more weeks.

    You don't have to be scared, just take some precautions.
    I had the same problem with our company Mercedes CLK 320 a few years ago, I turned off the engine and took out the key (it actually pops out) and the engine was still running. Surprisingly, it went of by itself after two minutes or so. This is the car which started to fully accelerate by itself from standstill at a red stop light. Unfortunately there was a car in front of me and although I fully applied the brake immediately, I kicked him in the rear because the distance was too short. This happened shortly after I came to a full stop at the stop light in winter time and the ABS was slightly pulsating. Seems to have been a malfunction of the ABS/ESP/EGas of some kind. The bad part: Mercedes claimed that there was no problem with that car and they refused to pay for the damage. We sold that car and got the ML55 instead but I was really happy I got rid of it.
