Where are the 997s in Los Angeles County? Are they selling?

i live in North Santa Monica and travel between SM and Beverly Hills almost every day and probably pass 100 plus Porsches daily (not to mention Ferrarris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Bentleys, etc.) and i have only seen 3 997s (one in Malibu, one in West Hollywood and one in SM i believe) since they arrived in August.

Are these things selling? Where are they?

I've seen at least six in the Newport Beach, CA area:

Corona Del Mar (1), Newport Beach (2), Irvine (3)

Plus, the dealership where I bought mine sells them as fast as they get them. There are never any to test drive!

I've seen one other I think. I'm sure there have been others but I haven't paid closer attention. I don't think that you can just walk in and get one right now at any of the dealers.

Not including the one in my garage

For those who don't know, Orange County is next door to LA County.

I have not seen any in Los Angeles county either except for a friend of mine and my own. Did go to San Francisco over the weekend and did see a standard 997. The only one I have seen so far. But lately, have not seen any 996s either.

well, i go down the 405 from the 118 to the 10 most weekdays arorund 10am. you could setup camp next to the freeway so i can wave at you.

i have only seen 1 997 (artic silver) so far. it was on the 118, in simi valley. are you here?

Was it about two weeks ago at night near stearns. I was in the slowlane and you were in the fastlane in a seal grey or atlas grey S? If so then yes Im definately here. I've also seen a arctic silver S in westlake village and a seal grey 997 in sherman oaks.

I work in West LA and have seen two. One was black, the other seal grey. The seal grey was an S, but the black passed by too quickly to check. It's only been 4 months so I think it's too soon to expect to see them everywhere. They did look mighty nice though.

yes, that was me! mine is a Seal Gray S. what is your's? how long do you have it? what dealer did yoy buy it from? options? pictures?

My dealer told me that Porsche is sending very few cars until next March so that they can blow out the remaining 996 cars then the pace will pick up dramatically.

Why would someone want a 996 at this stage imo? I don't care what discount. There'll be a lot of Caleefornian's looking out of state for a 997

I don't think it's just California. That was the only reason they made the 05 GT3, turbo S and turbo S Cabs.

I thought that might have been you. I bought my car in bakersfield, ordered in aug picked up oct 23 (approx). They were the closest dealership without an attitude willing to take some off msrp.I agree we should hook up, I will pm you.My car is pretty basic for now.

That was probably me in my Carrera S in Westlake Village, thats where I live ! but I've never seen another 997 on the road anywhere around here !
