    What a car!

We had a great time picking up the TT-S and covered over 800miles in the new car. It really is a beautiful car and has tremendous performance.

The best roads we drove on were the French roads as the Autobahn south from Stuttgart was too congested to go terribly fast.

Actually found that the 5000rpm run in limit was fine as in 6th gear, the car goes very fast at 5000rpm.

    Will post some photos shortly.

    Re: What a car!

    Make sure they're big pictures

"Actually found that the 5000rpm run in limit was fine as in 6th gear, the car goes very fast at 5000rpm."

As well as it should since it's making about 420 HP at that rpm according to the brochure.

    "Will post some photos shortly"

Please do, and congrats on your car.

    Re: What a car!

    Here are some:

    Re: What a car!

Apologies for the focus/depth of field. New to car shots!

    Re: What a car!

Could you make the pictures bigger j/k, Congrats

    Re: What a car!

i thought you were getting a cab!

    how bout some interior shots

    Re: What a car!

    Beautiful--congrats!!

    Re: What a car!

Sorry, fixed the sizes. No cab for me - definitely the coupe.

Here are some interior shots. Will get some better ones. But Moogle, the interior is a bit more subdued than yours!! Call me boring.

    Re: What a car!

i believe the break in on these GT1 derived cars is only 1000 miles, very cool, you're almost done with it already!

love the special perforated leather on the wheel/gearshift/handbrake

    Re: What a car!

Given the performance, the break in is not too painful so far. Taking it nice and easy. And, as I say above, 5000rpm goes a long way...

Oil consumption so far was the big surprise. Hit min-oil (it was 2/3 at factory) when I had done about 800miles. Need to carry some oil in the car for those long trips. Thankfully found some mobil 1 just in time.

    Re: What a car!

RC - The hole pattern on these seems to be the new design - or am I wrong?

    Re: What a car!

Is it atlas grey? Looks like it.

The interior is so much better than regular 996.(and so much better than 997's interior) I guess its full leather natural grey? The interior looks amazing. Congrats.

    Re: What a car!

the hole design indeed looks different

    Re: What a car!

Yes it is full natural grey. Doesn'ty look quite so dull in real life.

    The colour is Atlas Grey.

    Re: What a car!

Jason, congrats . Any impressions of PCCB brake pedal feel/fade resistance, esp vs 996TT cast-iron brakes and 997S PCCB? Also, is nat grey notably lighter color vs blk in real-life?

    Re: What a car!

Jason, Beautiful car! Can't get enough of it *cough, more pics, cough*

It is actually noticable and you get all of the perfroation that you don't get with the black. I really like the look of the perforated seats/shifter/handbrake.

Just did a Porsche experience day. Didn't notice any fade but the instructor was keen to point out that the brakes won't fade. If you push it too hard and don't let them cool they will break.

    Re: What a car!

jason, what kind of door sills do you have?

my car does not have any, as there were not any avabile on the option table at the time of ordering

just want to know if this is across the board or USA only issue. (option X70)

    Re: What a car!

I ordered stainless steel sills that have the Turbo S logo on them. Will put a photo up when I get home. Not sure what the option code was.

    Updated detail pics

Have updated the pics showing the door sills and perforated leather. Check it out here:

    Gallery

    Re: Updated detail pics

thanks jason, could you please check if there is Option X70, Metal Door Sills

because this option is not on ANY of the USA turbo S cars.

Checked. Mine are standard door sills. This includes the metal Turbo S panel embedded in the sill.

    Re: What a car!

    Pretty simple question:

    what ext. colour is this?

And of course congrats on the car and much fun!

    Re: What a car!

    Hi ferdie. Atlas Grey.

    Re: What a car!

i checked the newest order guide, option X70 (metal door sills with Turbo S logo) is nowhere to be found, guess they didn't want to manufactuer new ones in such limited quantities.

    Re: What a car!

what a gorgeous car! Congratulations to you

    Re: What a car!

beautiful car Jason! Atlas grey is superb! Congrats!

    Re: What a car!

Thanks. I don't normally get too emotional over car colours but i have to say that I am really liking the Atlas Grey. It is a nice midpoint in my mind between Black and Seal Grey.
