Re: GSM phone questions
I Europe it comes unlocked and we get a 900 MHz/1800 MHz dual band phone which works with all providers over here.
I tried it with T1, D2 and E-plus in Germany and it works just fine, no adjustment or entering a special code necessary. I suppose it will be the same situation with the US GSM phone option. Rumors indicate a dual band phone for the US too, 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. I hope this is true because a lot of new US providers are using the 850 MHz frequency.
BTW: in Germany (and probably Europe), the built-in car phones are allowed to transmit with up to 8 Watts HF power, this is four times more than the legal power on a handset over here in the 900 MHz frequency band. For the 1800 MHz frequency band, only 1 Watt HF power is allowed.
