My other thought about the bangle-ized car.
Like most of the car the corners of the headlights are radically stylized. Why stop there?
Why doesn't he treat the corners of the _windshield_ the same way?
When you look at it the corners of the windshield look out-of-place. Too obviously squared off.
So he feels good slapping on these "angel eyes" to the front of the car but forgets they don't match the _whole_ car, like the windshield corners for example!
Just bad design I guess. In _good_ design you resist the temptation to add things that don't make sense with EVERY other part of the whole.
The fact that he hasn't messed with the windshield corners shows how conventional in his unconventionality he really is.

Don't worry, soon we will all start to develop an inmunity to balgelitis and it won't hurt as much too look at
BMW is doing great in terms of sales, they are up something like up 6% this year and finally surpased MB which did not happen since 10 years ago. And this is before the introduction of the new 3-series version, E90, which is their star model representing more than half of their total sales worldwide. So you have to hand it to BMW, their product must be really good since they manage to do well "inspite" of their looks
Personally I have to admit that BMW is my preffered non-sportcar maker since I can remember. If only they'd lobotomise that Bangle...

yeah right, WHEN!? it's funny but I still can't get used to that job he did on the new BMWs.I figured maybe I'd eventually figure them out, have a break thru and not think they are so inadequate as unified aesthetic statements.
Hard to explain. When I look at a Tuna (fish) I see _some_ very appealing shark-like qualities. But as a whole it never gets beyond being a tuna. Same with Bangle's cars, they just suggest beautiful fragmentary forms, but when you take a few steps back they fall apart and seem very pretensious, or over-designed.
I don't see any hope for a resolution. I don't think I will ever see them as beautifully wholistic as a shark; they will stay tuna-like.
