    997 C2 standard wheels

does anyone have a picture of these? anyone seen them in the flesh? all the pics i have seen have been of the Carrera S 19" wheels
    thank you

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

Check out the Porsche UK site. The image is of the standard C2 18" Carrera III wheels.

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

thanks, i have, but what i really want is some normal pictures of a Carrera with the standard wheels on :S

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

For example go to the driving report of Frissen a couple of post ago. He made some pictures of that type of vehicle.

There is a 997 with std. wheels on display at my local dealer - it doesn't look as agressive as the S-model with the 19" wheels and even in the smaller wheel-configuration the brakes are way less prominent than on the more expensive model.

    Any questions in detail?

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

You can check Pentium's new car pictures, a standard 997.

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

I believe Ebay has a couple of 997's for sale with plenty of pictures...

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

thanks guys, i do actually quite like the 18s but obviously the 19s would, and do look a bit more aggressive! decisions, decisions!

Why is agression necessary? Why are 19s necessary? They don't do anything but give you a stiffer ride, are more prone to getting smashed, and make the car look closer to a street racer.

If you're stuck with them, as on a 997S take them.

If you're not (on non-S) just be glad you have a tougher, more comfortable, more practical wheel/tire that you probably wont' have to replace should your attention lapse for a second and you slam into a pothole.

Then again if you are in LA where the streets are smooth you gotta step into the latest fashion and get 19s (or 20s?!).

    Re: 997 C2 standard wheels

Just thought I would add my thoughts on wheels. I have a 997 on standard 18inch wheels. 18 inch wheels are lighter and combined with more ruber give a better ride. However, the rear in only 10inch wide vs. the 11 inch for the 19inch rears. Also the tire Porshe selected for the rear, I think, should go on a narrower wheel. It looks rounded because the tread is not wide enough. The tire/wheel also sits to far in, the 19inch wheel sticks out a bit more.
I plan on replacing the wheels but have not found anything suitable yet.

yeah good points. I guess, I didn't think that way. (width-wise) I figure I'm stuck on public roadways. On expressway entrance ramps I could get into trouble with the 18s? nah, just kidding.
