    Corsa System for Gallardo

    Finally, there is Corsa tire for Gallardo factory size. However, it's called Corsa System, the front tire thread is different from the rear tire. I am going to put a set on my Gallardo and see how it perform.
    BTW, anyone has lower the factory coil over, just wonder if it makes a big difference cause' I am thinking about it.

    I think the Corsa System is what the GT3RS uses. Which, unlike the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, these are "decent" in thew rain for an R-compound tire I hear.

    I think they might be better in the rain but not neccesary as good in dry conditions... Independent tests have shown that Dunlop makes the best R tyre so far with the Super Sport.

    The trade off for the Corsa System being decent in the wet for a R-compound tire, and better than the Pilot Sport Cups which are not practical for a street car in the rain, is that in turn they are not as good as the Pilot Cups in the dry. Though still better than normal non-R tires.

    Just ordered a set or Corsa System, but the delivery lead time is soooo long. The dealer told me it is going to 80 to 90 days.

    i believe the the "system" uses "rossos" in the rear, and "assemetricos" for the front

    The front tire is "Directional" and the rear is "Assemetric". The thread is totally new. I found this info. on Pirreri.com of Italy.

    very cool, if they are better in the rain than the cups, i may get that instead.

    I heard that R-Compounds shouldn't be used for street use because it's very hard to obtain adequate pressure. Apparently they needed to be heated up to obtain required pressure and on the street you wouldn't drive hard enough to obtain the pressure that the manufacturer recomends. Also, I heard that they "throw rubber" onto the car, not sure what that means, but sounds ominous.

    Not sure about shouldn't be used on the street, as long as you accept the compromise they make in practicality for street driving:

    - they are hard to bring to adecuate functioning temperature in "street" driving since they are made for more agressive driving (like at the track) and may not grip adecuately in clod weather or non-agressive street driving,

    - they are less progressive at the limit, require greater skill at the limit, and in the street conditions are not as controlled and safe as in the track,

    - they need a good brake-in heat cycle done at the track before you use them have it done by machine before installation,

    - they require a different suspension alignment than the stock one with more negative camber due to the different grip,

    - they offer significantly reduced traction in wet, especially in standing water compared to normal tires, and that is an important issue if you are going to use them in the street

    But as long as you know this and the greater traction outweights those cons and you will take advantage of it on the streets, then its perfectly OK. IMO the Pilot Cups go to far since I hear from people that used them that they are ridiculous on the rain, and should be left for the track only.
