997 Carrera - limited availability of full leather options

Valid for the 997 Carrera ONLY, not for the Carrera S!

The following leather options aren't available until further notice from Porsche.

AT - Black Full Leather
DF - Stone Grey Full Leather
FE - Sea Blue Full Leather
JX - Palm Green Full Leather
TG - Sand Beige Full Leather

Thank god teracotta is not one of them and the 997s is not in this list cause I'd go nuts with the PSE not being available as well! whew!

there must be a shortage, but they are makin sure carrera S customers get what they want, ahead of carrera base customers?

very interesting on porsche's part. it really shows that they are money hungry

There is a shortage of Carrera S rims too, one reason why a lot of dealers try to convince customers to go for a different design. I even heard from one guy that his dealer called the Carrera S rims "butt-ugly" to make him order a different design. Funny: a friend of this guy ordered his 997 Carrera S several weeks before at the same dealer and the same sales person told him that in his opinion, the Carrera S wheels are the most beautiful wheels Porsche ever made. This is what I call sales tactics.

i thought they were ugly from the first place, but much of the negative stigma about the carrera S wheels flaoting on the internet may be porsche inflicted to compensate for their own supply problems, very interesting business tactics.

So..., until further notice there's no full leather option for the Carerra: period.

except the for terra cotta which is understandable.

Oh don't forget you might still be able to get natural leathers: nicer and only a few thousand more.

I feel lucky now. I got both the full leather and the S rims on my standard 997.

I was called by my dealer yesterday and was told that my order for a 997S placed in mid-October is not being accepted by "the computer" because of my specification for full black leather (code AT) and adaptive sport seats (code PO1). They are going to check next week to see what the problem is.
