If you don't mind a few further questions:
some people especially in the US compared and chose the CS in favour of the CGT. What are your opinions about it, especially in terms of driving feel, e.g. the "thrill factor".
The 997 on the pic actually looks much bigger than the 993 and also the 996 which might be due to the 19" wheels.
Maybe you'd tell your wife that getting an aeroplane or yacht would be even more expensive... If you don't have one by now!
By the way, my former roommate is Persian. And I have a Persian friend.

I can't speak for anybody else, but taking nothing away from the CS, for me there is no comparison. As fantastic and thrilling as the CS is, it is completely outshined by the CGT. A lot of it has to do with the tremendous power difference. Let's put it this way, if the CGT is compared to the Enzo, then would you expect the CS to be compared to the Enzo? For me that's a resounding No. The real comparison should be the GT2/3 against the CS and in that battle, again my opinion only, the CS is a more entertaining car to drive. Not better and not worse, just more entertaining.
In any case both are great cars but they are not really comparable. I definitely do think that there is a bit more getting use to the CGT due to its clutch and brutal performance envelope.
By the way, the 997 is a lot bigger than the 993. The wheels on both cars are 19".
I could try telling my wife about the plane and yacht like you suggested but I think she'd read right through me. I'm a land speed type of guy.
