    my vision for a baby-cayenne...

...which could be a crossover between a sportscar and an SUV. Not so big like the cayenne and with a V6-engine.
    Do you like it?

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    Dear farina,
you forgot the main thing, the picture.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    ok...

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    I like it

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    Thank you!

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Maybe it could be more agressive...

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    ... ok it's a baby!

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Interesting concept but why a baby Cayenne and not a XXL Cayenne? I know a lot of people who need more interior and luggage room, including me.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Its looks great. The back however looks like an FX

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Hahaha... great! I like the FX very much and some design elements are in this concept too!

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

dunno. I like the drawing, and I dont dislike the looks of the car, but I don't like the idea of porsche making it, though I know that they would make a true winner out of it.

You are so right, extended version as a 5 plus 2 seater would be perfect to me. It also seems technically possible ( Audi Q7) Does such a version have a chance to be launched ?

Yes. But it depends a lot on how fuel prices develop over the next few months.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    Tom, check these three pictures.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    2.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    3.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

rear looks like BMW X3. front looks like choped boxter

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Coulod this be a test mule for the Audi Pikes Peak, in addition to the extended Touareg? The Pikes Peak was to have third row seating.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

I like the idea of a lightweight SUV/Sportscar crossover vehicle, something like the size and weight of a Jeep Liberty or Toyota RAV-4. Before the Cayenne came out, there were speculations this would be the direction Porsche would go. Their marketing research led them in the direction of a more full sized SUV though.

We seem to be in a transition period right now in the US. It's not clear to me that the full size SUV has more upside to it's market. There seems to be a lot of interest in the new small SUV's, like the RAV-4. The big trucks may have hit a plateau. There is also much interest in the coming hybrid designs, like the RX-400.

Design wise, I don't see as much of the traditional Porsche influences as I would like in the Farina drawings, sorry. The front has the new 997 headlights but the sides and rear do not look familiar. I actually liked the initial Cayenne drawings very much. They contained many Porsche styling cues and it appeared to be a much smaller and sleeker vehicle than the final product ended up being. I would like to see Porsche produce something more like the drawing below.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

    GM,

sorry to say that but I see quite a strong resemblance between your posted picture and the final Cayenne. The exaggerated rims and windscreen angles are pretty normal for an rough and initial sketch.

Maybe I should post some pics myself...

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

Well ... yes, of course there are similarities. This is, after all, one of the drawings used by the design team. It's not the similarities, it's the differences that I am trying to draw attention to. Here's another one below. The back glass, for example, is much sleeker and angled and less upright than the real thing. Same with many other elements. Yes, they are all the Cayenne, but sleeker and smaller looking really, with less apparent heft than the final product has.

It may be normal for the initial design drawings to be sleeker than the final product, but wouldn't it be nice if the concepts shown in the drawings could be realized in the final product.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

With all due respect for your drawings Farina, this one looks like a modern version of a renault twingo. Just like that crazy Varrera rumor. Ill.

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

GM, Have you got those pics in High res. Or at least bigger?
I would like 'em big. Awesome pics!

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

I love this drawing..of the running Cay Turbo..

    Ciao

Re: my vision for a baby-cayenne...

I have the 2nd one in 1280x1024 but that will not post here. I resized to something that will work. I don't have the first one in any other size. The www.porschecayenne.com website is where I got these, I think, but the site no longer works for me. I have a front view also that I will post.
