    I have two rumours:
    1. 997 Turbo with 460 HP and Turbo S with 500 HP
    2. 997 Turbo with 480 HP

    I also heard a more precise power figure but I'm afraid to post it because it could unveil the source. Just a little hint: it lies between the above mentioned power figures.

    RC, isnt 470HP or so truly dissapointing? in '79 when the first real turbo came out (not the experimental type one in 76 without even an intercooler!) the car had 300 HP, while the competitive ferrari had around 250. even up until 1995 with the 993, the porsche had 408 (maybe more) and the 355 had 375. now porsche is BEHIND in power, while it has gained weight at a rate that is beyond the other cars. Shouldnt it have the power as its engine makes it the easiest with boost? tis tis...

    Thanks Christian Hope they release both at the same time as they have done with the Carrera. Now back to the agonising wait

    bostonmini, we've had this power debate many times. I'm wiht most others in not caring about this, it is more about overall performance, reliability, and day to day useability. Only one winner there ever since '79.
