Good decision, Christian.
The R8 looks really great in white, I even think the black stripes fit the car. They go together well with the black side blades.
So I guess you will add some black wheels now.

Finally!
Time to switch usernames RC > R8
No more nuisance with service and parts which you've always faced with the GT500 (Porsche for me), it's an important aspect for anyone who wants his car on the road instead of staying at the service center for months.
A lot of biased R8 replies will be popping up soon J/K
The V10 will not disappoint whatsoever, it will get louder at some point and imagine with an aftermarket exhaust what it could do
Watch that right foot of yours, you'll be scaring a lot of people inside the city.
Thanks guys but I really didn't see this coming at all!
I wanted the old version, used and after I couldn't get it because I didn't come to (financial) terms with the dealer (different one!), I had actually switched my attention to the RS6 Performance.
Exotic? Well, probably the most exotic car I will ever be able to get for myself in Germany, true.
I just feel very sad that I didn't have the chance to choose such a car from Porsche. Actually, the R8 would fit Porsche much better in my opinion but this is how it is and I can't change it. If my former Turbo S had this sound, I would have kept it without a moment of a doubt.
If you want to hear the sound properly, there is a very nice Youtube video available. Just search for Audi R8 V10 Plus w/ Sport Exhaust from GUMBAL. Yes, the sport exhaust is optional (a must!!!) and costs 1900 EUR, so this fabulous sound doesn't come for free.
As soon as I have the car, I will open a new thread with lots of photos.
To avoid any misunderstanding: I am getting the new R8 V10 Plus only, not the RS6. Also, the 991 C4 GTS Cab will stay but the GT500, I already found a buyer, has to go.

DaveGordon:Congrats, nice car.. I was very impressed with the sound too.. Hard to imagine how it got homolgated..
Dealer told me that everyone at Audi wonders about the same as well. LOL
Unfortunately, the V10 is rumored to be replaced by a more powerful but also more muted twin turbo V8, very likely with the next facelift. Sad!

KresoF1:Christian,
Congrats! Great choice.
Suzukagrau pearleffekt?
Also, did you noticed one, for me, pretty important thing, new R8 is pretty small car? Aside its width it is as long as new Cayman. Also, throttle response is the best currently on the sportscar market.
Yes, Suzuka.
I agree, throttle response is amazing but I was also very impressed by the shifting times which are basically in real time, pretty awesome. An Audi Super Sportscar? Who would have thought of that? I drove the "old" V10 Plus and while it is a fun car as well, the new one just blew my mind. Unbelievable that the exhaust/engine sound is even louder now.
Comparing the price tag of this R8 V10 Plus with a 991.2 Turbo S or even a Lamborghini Huracan, it feels almost like a bargain. Well...actually...it is. More details after I take delivery of the car.
Speaking of the Huracan: This R8 doesn't show much oversteer, unlike the Huracan I drove last year. Tires? Different chassis setup? Maybe but the R8 feels a bit more neutral. Also seating position and especially visibility are better on the R8 but I like the looks of the Huracan body better.

noone1:OK, so what's the over/under on the timeframe till he has to sell it because his neighbors call for his head on a spike?
Nah, don't worry...car will be parked off the perimeter, similar to my GT500. ;-)
My direct neighbor just got himself a SLS, so I think I'm good anyway.
Funny: My wife called all her girlfriends to tell them ("how much horsepower was it again?...") and my son already started to plan a trip to Austria in the car, there is a very nice route to Lech/Zuers through the mountains in summertime and it can be done in one day. Only my daughter wasn't too happy because she loved the Shelby (which has to go now).

Amazing sound! Interesting fleet yours now. You may perfectly end up wit the R8 as your daily driver and the GTS as the weekend toy. It is even more rationale. An Audi is still an Audi.....

Amazing choice RC. Big congrats! Just recently found out about this thread (Don't blame me, the title says AMG GT , but in general Rennteam fashion you can't judge the content based on the thread title ). I had in my mind prepared a reply to advice you to ditch the idea about the RS6 and go for the R8 100%. Fortunately I didn't need to write this after I did continue reading up on the thread and realised that the deal was done!
Car, color and spec looks great. Not sure about the stripes though. Would think it is better without, but as you said - they are easy to remove.
Looking forward to more photos and driving impressions when you take delivery!
Thanks again, guys.
The stripes look better in reality than on pictures. When the dealer showed me the pictures, my first thought was: What the heck, what are these stripes for, this is no Mustang. Then, I saw the car live and I have to admit that the add a bit to the "tristesse" of the exterior color (yes, I could get a foil wrap in whatever color I want but this Suzuka grey is perfect for the region I live in...). Also, they not only added the stripes but also a clear protective film and this is actually quite good if I want to take this car to the track or to some deserted (mountain) roads in Austria or Italy.
If I get lots of negative feedbacks on the stripes, I will remove them though since I am not a big fan of stripes (not even my Shelby has them) or decals. It takes a hour to remove them, incl. the clear film, so no real issue.

BjoernB:Congrats ' another amazing deal from RC - and with stripes - I am shocked
This deal is amazing, I still cannot believe I am getting the new R8 for this kind of money.
Remember? I couldn't seal the deal with my local dealer because he asked too much. For a used OLD R8 10 Plus and this wasn't really a bad deal either (car was from last year and had very low mileage).
Lucky me I have this customer of mine who works at a very big dealership in a different city. They are a high volume dealer and just want to sell as many cars as possible. I didn't know about it until this customer entered my business last week and when he told me how nice the Macan Turbo in front of my business was, I told him that this is my wife's and I would prefer the Audi RS6 Performance. Well...lucky me.
Just as an example (I will post more details about this deal once it is 100% sealed, I still have to sign the papers this week!): The RS6 Performance I was interested in had basically the same lease conditions as my wife's Macan Turbo, which costs 30k EUR less. Unbelievable! Cars are registered to dealer first and then sold with little mileage to customers. A win/win situation because the initial value loss of the car actually goes on the dealer.

GTS stays daily driver, I cannot leave a R8 in front of my business, this is too "much" I'm afraid.
Keep in mind that in Germany, a normal 911 Carrera isn't really anything special but the R8 is considered to be a top of the line Audi sportscar, so...not going to happen.
