    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

    Porker:

Top-tip, the GT3 Cup part is considered as a replacement part and costs a fraction of the RS-part.

I did the same on my 997, buy the Cup spoiler and replaced it once every 2 months.

I assume it is higher than the original one as on the 997?

    Approx price?

i assume, as the shape is more complex. No idea about the price, I know Manthey fits them.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

    Found these at fvd:

991.1 "This is a genuine 991.1 GT3 Porsche Motorsports Cup Spoiler Lip. It is a cost-effective replacement for the original 991.1 GT3 / RS Spoilers. It also improves front end downforce. Please be aware that it is lower than the original Porsche spoiler but is a bit more pliable."

"Please Note: When installing this on a 991.1 GT3 / RS requires a small 1 cm notch to be cut on each end. The ends do not line up perfectly with the factory flares but it is a very small difference which most can live with."

    https://www.fvd.net/de-de/9915055578A/spoilerlippe.html

991.2 (Not sure if this is the right one from looking at the pictures)

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Try Sunset Porsche up in Beaverton Oregon. Best prices for parts in the country. So good that when I had them ship parts for my car to my dealer they sent the parts back. That is how they are. I think you dealer will not appreciate a note letting them know how cheap the part should be.  Watch what happens.
Enjoy the car the way you like to drive it!  It is an amazing car. Wish I could get one but my dealer is hopeless.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Suncoast Porsche is cheaper by about $25 but when you factor in shipping they both are about $380 including shipping.
I’ll try a couple of southern Ca dealers for price. OR I may follow Nick’s advice and leave it as it is.

Generally I don’t get attached to cars but this RS is so good I hate to give it up. Also, there isn’t another car on the market that excites me. Anyone notice there is hardly any discussion about the 992 except for the GT3? Most of the discussion is about EV cars.

When you call local dealers for a parts quote, tell them you are a PCA member (good for 10% discount and they won't check to see if you are really a member).  You may even ask them to match Suncoast price...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I spoke with another dealer and they will charge $300.59 for the spoiler and install it free of charge. They also told me there are alternatives to replacing the spoiler. There is a smaller two piece spoiler which cost a little more but last a lot longer. Also, there is a deeper lower spoiler. It sit out further.

My service adviser is out and returns next Monday. I have already sent him an email advising him of what the local Porsche dealer is charging and asking for an explanation. I have worked with him for several years and I hope he tells me he quoted the wrong part. Otherwise, we are going to have a heart to heart discussion.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Four months ago I had an oil change. Today when I started the car I got this message. I have started the car twice since then and still get the same message. How is this possible?

BTW, what workshop are they referring to. I'm lucky to know enough to turn the ignition key.indecision

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Driving for short trips accumulates water vapor in the oil system - need a good track day or Peter recommends some launch control starts to boil off the moisture.

Also, opening the rear decklid and oil cap can help restart the oil measurement system.

Great - if it comes back, open the decklid for a few minutes and unscrew oil cap to vent and reboot system...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

The same accumulated water vapor can lead one to believe oil level is okay and then one long highway trip can burn off the water and make it seem like oil is being consumed rapidly. Don’t know if this applies to the newer motors but the old dry sump engines could do this.

It's the truck of a race team. They take care of the RS (and other cars) during this winter.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Hi guys new here just getting a feel of what you think, I've come across a brand new GT3 RS Lizard Green + Weissach Package its practically got all the goodies I would have wanted. Its more or less at list price from a German dealer not from OPC. Still worth going for ? I'm also thinking long term of hopefully being allocated a 992 version, dealer also promised he can sort that for me.

What cars do you own now? Why the interest in the RS?

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

My last car was a Mclaren 570s however an RS always intrigued me especially knowing that I shouldn't have the silly issues I came across in my Mc. Another point is me wanting to experience tracking the car which I have yet to do at the age of 40 !! believing that the RS should be the perfect machine. It might not look as exotic as other cars out there however from what I've read it should be amazing to drive plus 9k NA ;-)

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I wouldn’t pay list price for an RS in the current market, which is very different from a few years ago. Some cars in that price range seem to be selling very slowly at the moment. Also wonder why this car is not with an OPC, unless the dealer is a Porsche specialist. Either way it would be awesome on track so best of luck! :)

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

You can't go wrong with the RS . It is a fabulous machine . Engine + chassis are a marvel .

Check autoscout24 in your country and Germany to find out what the current market is  . Take at least 10% off the mentioned prices to get  the real selling one .

992 RS is still at least 18 month away, and that is if you get the very first cars . Could be 24-30 month easily until it is in your garage .

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Mk2 with OPF is a bit less noise - at least on the low range band !  However, Lizard green with the right seats etc is simply epic !
