A week ago while washing my RS I noticed a small crack on my front spoiler. I took it in figuring I would replace the spoiler for a couple of hundred dollars. Big surprise. Porsche has changed the spoiler and now a new one install is $850. All the years I have been driving Porsche's with front spoilers, I never has a cracked spoiler. Some change.
I plan to glue the edge together. Anyone used Goop before?
Sorry to hear that but if it is any consolation for you: My Performante has a forged carbon front spoiler. Luckily, the attached plastic front lip easily pops out of it's supports and pops in back easily as well, so no big deal if you "kiss" the ground, for example when exiting a garage and driving off a ramp or whatever. I had the front lip pop out twice because I didn't pay attention but my mechanic told me that the carbon fibre front spoiler replacement is around 3-4k EUR, so I decided to pay much better attention and use the lift all the time. Without lift, I would be in a big trouble, had several encounters where the lift basically saved my life, especially in Italy around Lake Garda (West side), where they installed some pretty nasty artificial speed bumps to reduce speed. The lift is always a lifesaver, a feature I cannot recommend highly enough.
