I had the RS in the workshop for a race check before shipping it to Spain. As a surprise they installed the carbon panel for the steering wheel - took me like 10min until I noticed. I kind of like it and assume that it will save me 1-2sec on the track :)

Was this a delayed option item? It does look good.
Having everything is nice, but it's even nicer to make sure everything you've got is actually worth having.

Yes, it's part of the Weissach Package if I remember correctly

Looks great...
I'd say 0.1 to 0.2 seconds but hey, maybe.

JR-550:Picture at my Porsche dealer, they received 5 GT3RS for deliveries! At and other Porsche dealer in the neighborhood there are 2 on stock. Really wonder how many of these cars Porsche has produced. I am sure you can get a good deal now on a GT3RS
All of them, I suppose and I expect them to build even more with upcoming models as ROI of these cars should be better than with street cars. As for the real numbers, there is a thread over at rennlist (US, CA only)
Then again I wonder how many customers are there, worldwide, who appreciate a hardcore 911. Let alone with the looks the current one has.. It's not an infinite pool of customers, yet they seem to produce them like regular 911's these days.

Define good deal...
Yes, lots of cars were made but is that really a bad thing if every single person who wants one, gets one?!

C'mon, at least, give us a rough indication on the timing...
nberry:1464 RS’s in the US is not high. I would argue it’s low.
997 RS Mk2 were produced total WW 1500 PCS.....
Still believe that the sweet spot is 2500-3000 cars which is still a small number if you divide by several continents & Regions. Most of them being no garage queens like with other brands !

with the free money from the past few years, the market for these ''collectible'' is booming but PAG over supplied so market will go down in a very harsh way for flippers and then we will be back to normal. I concur the 3k range is about the real demand for these 911s

Very well said. Also, with the EV hype (probably) booming at some point, especially when there will be high performance variants, many people will switch to "new toys", so mostly real enthusiasts will enjoy these GT models, which isn't bad at all.

That hasn’t been the case at least on this blog. EV cars to many petroheads are mere instruments for transportation and not driving enjoyment as are GT cars.

Yes, but there are not any EV GT cars yet (but there will be eventually)...

I’m terminally on a gt3 waiting list at my dealer. They simply don’t get any allocations.

That's a problem at many Porsche dealers as speculators somehow cut in front of the line. The Miami Blue Speedster I mentioned earlier today is at the local Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini dealer. For some reason, they tend to have new Porsche models on the day they begin sales. The parent of this dealership holds no Porsche dealership franchise.
