Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

I thought the 2005 only had Turbo S's. I saw one at the dealership today which was a 2005 Turbo. Is this right?

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

all 2005s are supposed to be The S version

however, a few did slip out as non S. avoid them like the plague.

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

    Why?!?

Interesting claim. Why??? Of course the Turbo S is the better deal but not all people want (or need) the PCCB and more power. These people just want to pay less money...

BTW: Porsche Germany sells some pretty interesting factory cars lately. A lot of 996 Turbo with PCCB and 450 HP Powerkit are sold at highly attractive prices with low mileage.
Example: a 2003 Turbo with PCCB, 450 HP powerkit, a lot of options and only 24000 km on board for 106000 Euro. Wow. Of course including the Porsche new/used car warranty.
    Highly tempting...

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

WoW RC. I think that's pretty expensive for a which has 24000KM. Here In kuwait a new Turbo S would sell for 40120 Kuwaiti Dinar which is equivelant to 106,435.40 EUR!
Here's a link of the prices in Kuwait:

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

    That is pretty amazing indeed.
How do you get access to that inventory RC?
Can you get it through the Porsche website?
Bashoor, 106,000 Euros for a brand new Turbo S!!! That sounds a bit low to me!

From what I understand Kuwait has no taxes. Sounds about right.

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

Oh that's why, but that has nothing to do with the price of the car then. Good for Kuwait costumers though...

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

what i'm saying is, people that are in the market for a 2005 Turbo, they should get the turbo S,

if you aren't interested in the S, go for a 2004 turbo, there are a few new ones still in dealer inventories, and you can get a major discount,

i don't know why anyone with knowledge would buy a 2005 Non-S turbo, in my opinion, they are an anomoly and should be avoided.

Re: Saw a 2005 Turbo, not a Turbo S at dealer

OK, so my question "why?!?" was not such a strange one... Fanch; nice typ: costumers <-> customers...

My 997 Carrera S with 20 mm chassis option, PCCB, Chrono Sport, sunroof, adaptive sport seats, navigation module, phone module, etc. is around 107000 Euro incl. 16% VAT over here in Germany. A "naked" 996 Turbo S is 142248 Euro incl. 16% VAT and you can raise the price easily to around 150000 Euro and more with some options.

The used 996 Turbo with powerkit and PCCB I mentioned is a bargain. A 996 Turbo with powerkit and PCCB is already 150000 Euro incl. 16% VAT in Germany. And the factory cars are usually not only in a very good shape, they also are pretty powerful.

All GCC countries' (Kuwait, Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman) prices are the same. And we pay 5% tax which is included in Porsches' web site.

In general we have the lowest car prices in the world. Thats why most europeans who leave our countries buy their cars from here and ship it back home. And if you think these prices are low, you ought to check out used car prices.

In 2002 I bought a brand new GT2 for $150,000. I sold it two days ago (13,000km) for $100,000. U calculate that in euro.

I agree, RC...there's a clearing price for every car in mkt. One can choose among numerous unsold, new '04/'05 996TT or '05 996TTS at various US dealers....and, given any of these cars is likely to have weak resale value anyway, unless one is fixated on custom-ordering certain colors and options, I suspect one can negotiate a handsome discount off MSRP for any of these unsold cars...it's awfully hard for dealers to move discretionary $150K sportscars in most parts of the US, let alone when the weather becomes less sportscar-friendly

I guess Dubai is car paradise...find me a job there and I'm coming... We love the weather too.

How about posting some pictures, including some nice cars?
