Steve Sutcliffe from UK Autocar Mag on the Turbo vs 360
Dear all,
For those of you who know Autocar magazine (one the most repectable magazine with AMS IMO)
Steve Sutcliffe is one of their main journalists, highly competent IMO.
Here are a couple of questions I posted on the Autocar mag website, got the replys rapidly which is appreciable.
Question:
Dear Steve, Two questions:
1-For the same price, would you go for a 360 Modena or a 996 Turbo? Considering it will not be a daily driver but a pleasure car with occasionnal track days.
2-The Turbo 450hp you tested recently, did it have that new option sport chassis that lowers the car by 20mm for better handling? If yes, how was it and would you recommend it? Thank you, Francois.
Answers:
1 - 996 turbo: there's no comparison frankly
2 - recommend wholeheartedly the engine upgrade but haven;t tried the lower ride height. Driven plenty of GT2s which are lower than regular tubo and the ride is pretty hard. They understeer badly, too, but this could be for a whole host of reasons other than just ride height. I'd keep the suspension standard and go for the engine upgrade if I were you.
Have fun
SS
Rennteamers and Christian, what do you think about his answer concerning the sport chassis (X73)?
Thanks,
Fanch.
