Evo Boxster S first drive

Boxster Evo mag first drive

Theres a very good first drive report of the Boxster S in this months Evo mag. Some kind chap over at Boxa.net has posted a scan of it!!!

Makes interesting reading, especially the comp with the 911!

There is a test in a Dutch magazine Autoweek
They love the Boxster S
Seems like Porsche has made a good job with the new Boxster
They also say the Boxster S is close to the 997 with better handling due to the midengine.

The more I read about his car, the bigger the pile of drool on my keyboard!!!
Cant wait to get hold it in March!
Would really like to get a ride in a 997 to see where all that extra money goes!

Agree, but one could assume that these days P is spending an awfull lot of money to keep the US market alive. The current low dollar is in no way in their favour but the fact that we in Europe are charged close to Euro 100K for a 997S that you can buy in the US at USD 95K plus tax, I need somebody to explain to me

I am having delivery for 997 and BoxsterS together on 1 day for Januari so I will keep you up to date.

As with the AutoCar (UK) review, the suggestion is that the 19" wheels are heavy although provided a lot of grip. I wonder how it performs on 18".
18" or 19", I can't decide which to get.

From what I have read the 19"s may be a little harsh without PASM added to the config. The 18"s should be the best of both worlds....ride and handling, but don't quite look as good as the 19"s in my opinion. Agreed, tough choice!
