RC:The question is now: How much?
I can actually see the Roma start at 195k EUR or so...maybe even slightly under 190k (the Portofino starts at 190k in Germany). Or it starts at around 220k...still cheaper than anything else at Ferrari, with the exception of the Portofino.
First rumours indicate a base price that is 15% higher than that of the Portofino.
So the Roma would actually start at 220k.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
RC:I look at the Roma as a cheaper 812 Superfast, the mid//front engine design is also interesting if it really improves driving dynamics (remains to be seen). The Bentley GT would be a gentleman's car and I am very far away from this description.
Much cheaper and missing that all important and epic V12. I missed the launch today as I was with your friends in Santa'Agata Bolognese. Now they know how to make a V12 as well
Thanks Reginos, keep in mind 992 Turbo will be wider still, but presumably not much longer, as the Roma prices are closer to top end 911s.
But kudos to Ferrari for competing in this size and price sector. Lots here who were bemoaning overstyled and be-scooped Ferrari designs; this one looks very clean and classic.

Agreed. I think Porsche should start giving their Turbo/Turbo S a slightly different interior design, to make the car more worthy of its higher price tag.

I am sure Roma will be the right car for showing off in the city and imagine you are part of the la dolce vita era of Italy.
With its extra length and longer wheelbase and given its GT remit, Roma should have been designed with a more spacious rear than something resembling the notional seats of the 911.
On longer trips with mixed roads and conditions I believe something like the BMW M850i will most probably be the better GT car at €100.000+ less.
On another note, using the the name Roma is not a wise decision, because besides the city of Rome, it alludes to the colloquial name used for the Romani people, an ethnic group who for some reasons (and I don't abide to that prejudice) are not well-liked in many countries, in Europe at least.

i find the name also inappropriate. The design is soso imho back and side good but the front grille ??? The back "seats" are even more unusable as in a 911 and also not usable for childs. they missed a chance to produce a useable 2+2.
They key is in your face omg i would hide it all the time its so bold.

Why should it be a car to show off or imagine anything (dolce vita in Italy? Since when? )?
I think the Roma is an interesting offer from Ferrari, even if I'm probably not the typical customer for such a car.

It was presented like that by the Design Director and the whole introduction of the car was based on that concept This allusion highlights the target market group for the new Ferrari.

Roma is not a 911 rival, but it is a rival to a potential Panamera Coupe Turbo S (wish they would make this for those seeking fast comfort and return the 911 to a pure small sports car)...

Do I need to teach you about crash safety, pedestrian crash protection and other things?
Small and powerful is barely possible for a high volume manufacturer and it gets even more difficult with new regulations.

Can these new regulations put an end to drunk drivers too and people who fiddle around with their iphones
I always liked the F-Type, especially the supercharged V8 but I never got the chance to get myself one (found a roadster with little mileage once, for under 70k EUR ) because I got the GT500 instead. The sound of that car was breathtaking but it is my understanding that Jaguar has issued some software updates lately to mute many of their models (not sure if this is valid for older cars as well).

ISUK:Comparison photo's of the Roma to the Jaguar F Type. The Jaguar is shortly due to receive a mid life restyle which will see much smaller and narrower headlights.
Those are my exact thoughts.
Having everything is nice, but it's even nicer to make sure everything you've got is actually worth having.

So very true. As posted in this forum numerous times, current and future regulations have basically relegated the small sports car to the rubbish bin. Porsche, several years ago, released carefully crafted statements that the footprint of its cars needed to increase to move up into more lenient CO2 emission bands. Furthermore, Porsche, for example in the December 2019 of Car Magazine, states that it would have designed the 992 differently if it knew what it knows today. However, when the 992 began development over five years ago, the world, Tesla did play a role here, the design met the then parameters. Today the consumer demands a different product.

This car will further put Aston Martin in danger.
It's DB11 range is aging and Vantage is not selling well.
They should have deleted the rear seat and make a bigger boot with a hatch back opening so that i can throw two full size golf bags in comfortably.
I love the Dolce Vita styling and looking forward to 812 replacement to come in this old flair styling.

So why can other manufacturer still make small sports cars ? ( Alpine for example ) I think it is only a marketing decision . They decided that the 911 must suit better the general public .
What would of been different if they designed the 992 today ?
