My new ride arrived earlier than expected. Will pick her up Friday next week - car will get a protection wrap and I'll  be in Mugello.  I've been waiting for so long for this to happen and now this extra week seems like an eternity.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Thanks guys for the kind comments.

    @Dave/Gnil
Lots of fun in Mugello ! I very much hope that we will meet someday

    >>Miami Blue? seems right to me but one will never know with digital conversion
Well, we all know that black wheels are the fastest and because of your GT2RS I thought that Miami Blue must be the fastest color :) Kidding aside; In the beginning I considered white (which works really well with the WP),  but thought that this might be a bit boring for a GT3 RS. Then  I had a look at the photos from my track days over the last 2 years and couldn't find one in Miami Blue. After seeing the car in person I'm more than happy with that choice

    >>Very cool, congrats and enjoy it in every possible way, mostly on the track I guess indecision
Yes, mostly a track toy and because winter is approaching fast over here I'm planning to get the car down to Ascari until April

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Congratulations Rick! Curious to your findings vs the Turbo S, are you keeping both side by side?

I'll keep both for now. The Turbo is likely the best car I ever owned (except for its appetite for tires) and I can't give it away. Also depreciation is quite high for these cars

The mag wheels are beautiful but would have killed the budget and I was (still am) concerned about damages.

    Good decisionkiss

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

A year ago when I spec‘d the car the mag wheels were not available for Weissach GT3 RS cars as PAG needed them for the GT2 RS customers.
Yes, it would have been an expensive option, but as spare parts they are much, much more.
And the Manthey option is around 18k€, too.
In hindsight I would have loved to have the choice.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Hi Everyone, need some advice and this is the right group. I have a 997.2 GT3 (mostly for track use), I just got offer a 991.2 GT3 RS new with no mark up (here in the US, I have seen mark ups from dealers going from 15 to 30k on top of MSRP)

I love the car and it has been built with exactly my favorite configuration, including weissach package, etc

My only hesitation is the idea that the 992 GT3 RS cannot be far from coming out. Any views in terms of buying one right now? Thanks in advance!

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

The 991 Cup car is homologated for another 2 seasons. That means the 992 GT3 will appear during that time frame.

Then another year or so for the GT3RS version for the GT3R race car.

There is a reason if the dealer is offering a car now at MSRP with no mark up, market is drying up and they can't move cars with premium anymore.

All depends on what you want the car to do. IF you like to drive it then just buy it and drive the shit out of it and worry about value later.

If you were thinking more about money, then forget about the car and go buy a painting instead. Or a Patek or AP watch.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Dealers here are now offering the RS with slight discounts angry It was obvious the market is saturated , specially that the speculators have not so much interest in them as they have been burning their fingers with the last one .

Good the market will become cleaner again .

As to the 992 RS , I would think presentation Geneva 2021 , at dealers in Europe in summer 2021 . That means probably not before fall 2021 in the US if you can get one of the very first cars .

Next RS will probably have some hybrid system . Does that make a difference for you ?

The current RS is a pure joy . Impossible not to enjoy it !

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Ya, the GT2 RS laptime wasn't that good.

According to the Sport Auto France article, the car had used Cup2 (30% wear).

Also the driver mentioned that with everything off the car is hard to master. He would need more time behind the wheel. He also mentioned that he would like a different suspention/swaybar setup, harder at front and softer at rear.

It would be faster than GT3 RS for sure.

So the car has too much oversteer for his likings.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I finally got my car on Friday and - as most of you already know - it is a blast. The steering is like a scalpel, the folding seats are perfect and the whistles, bangs and rattles from the back are pure joy.  From the PZ we drove directly to our local Tesla SC to pick up the P100D which got some minor things fixed. The Tesla guys just loved the RS and asked me to just leave it there.

On a more serious note I found that Porsche changed the running in procedure. The manual I got with my car states "1500km, 7000/min max" whereas the previous version asks for "3000km, 4000/min max"; the latter is still valid for the GT2 RS. Most of the GT3 RS OPF owners I talked to got the old version of that document, which is "WKD 991 05 10 19 11/17" . The correct version seems to be "WKD 991 07 10 19" 05/2019".

    Cheers
    Rick

Guys I have run in at 4000 max rpm for 1500 km. keeps the engine much smoother in the long run. So don’t go to 6000
