    Hey Dock, whats the X79 suspension you are talking about? is it the sport suspension for the 996 turbo? if yes, could you elaborate on how it works? ie does it reduce understeer?

    RC, you shouldn't rev till red line if temp is below 80* - even if the car is a loaner.

    The X73 is a suspension option from Porsche available on all Turbos except those in the U.S. It is lower and it is stiffer than European spec. suspensions.

    I installed X73 on my Turbo aftermarket; ordered it form Carnewal in Beligum. It also comes with Porsche's stiffer motor mounts.

    The X73, with more aggressive alignment settings, is an incredible setup. I have no understeer at all, and the car corners SO much better than the stock U.S. suspension. Also there is basically no vertical movement in the front anymore, and at speed on the highway the car is much more planted.

    1. I was already driving for about one hour when this picture has been taken
    2. the temperature gauge indicates water temperature, not oil temperature

    Nice try if you're referring to my 997 oil temperature post. But my statement is still valid.

    with a loaner (and i've been lucky to get same brand loaners for all my cars, must be good dealerships in my area), i redline it all day long , cold start, warm start, from every stoplight.

    why not, everyone else probably does it too.
