It was nice seeing you Kobalt . Was a terrific day today. Hot , very few drivers , managed many laps with absolutely no one in my way. I think there was only one minor crash.
Not used to have the asphalt at the Ring so hot !!!
I will not be around for the VLN. Probably my last day of the year at the Ring tomorrow.
Then Paul Riccard , Mugello and another track near Bologna

DaveGordon:Actually the Swift was way better than I expected - really quite capable around the twistier sections.. could keep much more expensive machines honest..
I've been to the Grobnik racetrack two week ago with my Turbo (570hp, P Zero street tires) and I couldn't get away from a slightly modified Z4 Coupe, around 250hp, a skilled driver and running on slicks.

Don't worry, this happened to me as well once or twice. There are people who are on the same track almost every day, they know these tracks so well that you stand no chance, even if they drive slower cars. Nothing to worry about.

I didn't worry about that Z4 too much. What made me think were two other cars. My best time was 1:42, a Formula 3000 was 1:11 and that Indy car was even quicker. Just insane, not to mention the noise level. On a more positive note, the Turbo was quicker than a DTM car on the straight. Time to get a suitable track car ..

I think the P-Zero's are mostly to blame to be honest.

schmoell:fully agree, plus maybe the weight. Unfortunately Porsche does not allow semis on the 991.2 Turbo
I come across them often on Turbo's, they're a weapon on Cup 2's at Spa for example.

schmoell:They are allowed on the 991.1 Turbo. I don't know why Porsche changed it - maybe someone here knows the reason
I didn't realize semi-slicks are forbidden. I know real slicks are forbidden on all the new street cars (including GT3/RS cars with dry sump). I wonder if rear axle steering is the reason?

I really wish it was the best experience on the Ring - I could save lots of money and headaches. Now, where is that Suzuki Swift Message Board?
