With the success of the C8, its amazing that GM would do this.

As previously posted on RT, not a fan of drag racing, Dodge Durango Hellcats, or Hennessey Performance but that tank is quicker than a C8 Corvette. Amazing amount of horsepower and torque despite the wrong form-factor. https://www.motor1.com/news/503291/durango-hellcat-corvette-drag-race/

From 0-60 kph I destroy everything with my Trackhawk, including Teslas and even the new 992 Turbo S. It is unbelievable how this car jumps forward from a stop, even without launch control.
3.7 seconds from 0-100 kph...without launch control. 3.5 seconds with launch control. Numbers get worse with outside temperatures, for example over 25°C. I clocked my Trackhawk at 4.0 seconds flat at 23°C (engine was already very hot from some previous Autobahn driving), without launch control. With launch control, 3.8 seconds. We are talking about a 2.5 ton truck.
My truck is stock. Now imagine that in the US, many Trackhawks have 900-1200 hp, they often even use E85 fuel. These monsters run the 1/4 mile under 10 seconds, the fastest I saw was 9.2 seconds or something like that. Good old American hardware.

mcdelaug:Makes one wonder what you could accomplish with lightening it.
A lot...but whats the point? I never understood those Trackhawk owners who tune their trucks to 1200 or 1400 hp to drag race them. For me, this is a truck, a SUV, something I enjoy driving in comfort with. I would never lower it or even try to make it lighter.

The Trackhawk is definitely quick and even quicker as a carjacking target in many major metropolitan areas in the States. Other popular carjacking targets include Audis, BMWs, and Porsche SUVs. Chicago, as a reference, had over 350 carjackings in the first 61 days of this year.

Ram TRX versus Nissan GT-R with predictable results. https://www.motor1.com/news/503918/ram-trx-nissan-gt-r-race/ Even that truck is quick and slightly better at launch than even the highly vaunted but rapidly aging GT-R.
JimFlat6:I see several C8s everyday . The styling is awkward and the paint finish is mediocre.
For sure. Hopefully, they will improve it with Z06 (or just via model year changes). I think the Z06 may be such a performance bargain, that some will easily look beyond these issues. I was sorry to see the loss of the Manual in the C8. Some think there will be a 3-pedal car with the Z06, but seems like it may just be a DCT with fly-by-wire clutch control and solenoid stick shift.

So...basically paddle shifting in an H pattern?
2017 Range Rover Sport S/C, 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo
GM has now announced the first RHD version specs and pricing for UK. The Launch Edition will be fully specced with Z51 pkg, and top interior trim level, at £81,700 coupe, £87,000 convertible. Even for these high initial specs, these prices undercut a basic 911 Carrera by £3000 and £7000 respectively for the two versions.

Whoopsy:That wing just look awkward, to say the least.
If I were to get a Corvette, a wing delete is a must.
I would get the larger optional wing in this case. It's a much more pleasing shape (and faster on track):

Also, you can see the version without a big wing looks pretty unstable at 2:03 compared to the ugly wing at 2:23 :

Just means their fluid dynamics guy isn't up to par
The basic body/chassis has some inherit aero weakness, not unlike say a 911. Ferraris haven't have wings for a while.

That white Porsche Panamera looked squirrelly a couple of times too. I guess Porsche must have problems with the their CFD team too.
