    Re: 992 GT3

    macca993:

Im all in for going back to analogue.

Maybe its a blessing in disguise.

Hopefully manufacturers can only get thin steel in the future and only 18" wheels. Then perhaps our cars will weight 1200kg and be fun/challenging to drive at 100kmph through the windy roads. Heck, maybe the ECUs that run the dual clutch boxes wont be available and it would be manual gearbox only option again!

For many it would be the dark ages. Throw in the "pandemic" and it will be like the mid 1300s again. Heck, Downunder we only just got to the modern age. I think we still remember how to fix things and make stuff.

A few years of Mad Max would probably do us all some good. If the Plague cant reduce our numbers significantly perhaps a period of forced technology deprivation would be a good fix. Our kids would learn to make go-karts and tree houses and solve problems.

Maybe instead of paying 1000s for an Apple product we can produce 1000 apples from our garden.

We cheat nature with science no every time. Perhaps China shutting their doors will be a good thing. No pain no gain....

    Half in jest of course.

The main change with the new PCM is the Android Auto connection.

Otherwise i would not bother with it, specially when delivery times are so unstable.

It reminds me of 2015 when carbon bucket seats were very delayed.

Oh, and the car looks great in whiteindecision

    Re: 992 GT3

Yes I remember the 991.1 GT3 delays due to seats. I ordered mine early, like my 992 GT3, and took delivery from factory in September 2013 and wrote a diary on here which got deleted from the annuals of  history in "the great database debacle" a good few years back!

When I ordered my 991.1 GT3 in 2011 we had no idea it would be PDK only. When I took delivery many of the 996/997 GT3 owners at the track made fun of the car saying it had a "Grandma gearbox".

Move forward almost 10 years and those same guys now have PDK 991.2 GT3/RS. I have a manual 991.2 GT3. I ask them why they now date their Grandma after all the tough stick shift comments from 2013. I always say it with a smile of course...

Im glad white looks good. I ordered it again..for the third time. It doesnt show the track rash and its easy to repaint if you get a big chip. Its free to allow money for clubsport option and tyres and pads and rotors....lots of tyres and pads and rotors. I feel like I am a MIchelin shareholder. Over 20 sets of Cup2 for my GT4/GT3. I call my tyre shop owner my drug dealer and I dont ask for tyres any more I ask for some of his "black cocaine" lol

That's what driving is all about.  It isn't about having the latest technology that fills in for inadequacies in skills; it helps you develop those skills as you drive and drive and drive.

I decided to get GT Silver again - a bit boring, but it helps hide dirt also and nobody hates it when it's time to sell (was a little overwhelmed with the interest in my current GT3 when posting for sale).  Changed Neodyme wheels to free Silver also.  Car is due to be built towards end of July (delivery in Zuffenhausen near end of September).  I've been through so many tires in the GT3 also - the rears tend to last me only 3 half days at the track (and I rotate them side to side every time).  Seems like maybe the 992 will wear the tires a bit better?  If so, worth the cost to upgrade right there Smiley

Grant, if you’re going with silver, get the Dolomite Silver. A rich looking color which enhances the lines of the car and gives something different to look at.kiss
