No, my wife...maybe. Of course I will drive it too, I mean I have to run it in or drive it when she doesn't want to drive on weekends (most of the time ). Fact is: A well optioned Carrera GTS Convertible costs the same money as the GT3. She actually wanted a Turbo S before but this thing is way too expensive.
We are also looking at a R8 Spyder but I guess it is more likely that she gets a Porsche.

I think this car is solely for driving pleasure, for those who care about it. It is not for town cruising, posing or for boulevardier usage. There are cars more suited for these routines. So the nitpicking about some design elements is irrelevant IMO. In toto the car looks very dynamic and purposeful.
All the things that don't readily appear attractive e.g. the design of the lower front, the swan wing, the holes on the front bonnet, the diffuser at the back that makes the rear look rather heavy etc. are all there for function resulting in stability and speed.
The price is surely steep but this is not a restyled Carrera. It is a more bespoke 911.
If I didn't have other €€€ priorities I would definitely get one in GT Silver with carbon roof over any other sports car in the market today

Here we go. Keep your eyes peeled for a comment pointing out a minor inconvenience on one of his current cars, which will inevitably be too annoying too handle, and will only be cured by patching it with a GT3 shaped bandaid

Concur. The bluntness of the nose of the 992 GT3 is redolent of the nose of the 991 GT2 RS and part of Porsche's motorsports heritage. This car is less a parts bin special with the number of motorsports components including the new front suspension wishbones and cfrp bonnet than previous generations. Wished the club sport package was available in the States.

This is exactly the issue Porsche will have with the new GT3, unless someone really wants a GT3.
Also, McLaren dealers are often willing to negotiate (prices) and lease offers aren't that bad either, especially compared to Porsche lease offers.
Will be interesting to see how the GT3 sells but the new Artura could be a blow for many different Porsche models. If the Artura had AWD...oh boy...they would sell tons of those.

Literally this afternoon I was following a black 992 on the road.
I followed a 992 and the rear is really extremely wide When the full width brake light lit the rear looked endless..
I suspect Porsche wish their new 911 to look very wide. They haven't tried to conceal the width but on the contrary they accentuate it by the design of the rear lighting. Perhaps, car buyers like full bodied cars nowadays
Let's face it all new cars are substantial in terms of dimensions.
Last Saturday there was a white Taycan 4S in front of me. It looked so proportional and so compact and low. When turning the front side "intakes" curved from the body so nicely. IMO it is a top design from Porsche. Pity they haven't given this car a "real" engine.

My turbo 3.6 also has a 'wide' ass too when compared to it's waist line, but it's quite a bit narrower than any of the modern 911s, it's all about the proportions.
And yes, Porsche nailed the styling on the Taycan, it doesn't have a bad angle. But that also makes me worry about the Cross Turismo, it loses that amazing back end styling to start off with.

My definition of cool is difficult to explain. Oh wait, everything which isn't uncool, like white socks, white hair, sandals, Birkenstocks (yuck), certain type of beards on younger people, I could go on but in general, I rely on the reaction of my kids and their friends. Their faces are the best uncool detector.
My wife? Well, she wants to look younger (most women over 50 do ) and she is very sporty, so she loves sports cars. Very simple. She would like to get a McLaren, she likes the 600LT Spider a lot but it isn't tax deductible in Germany.
